I'm 50 .having a heavy period after 3 years without and on HRT. Should I see a doctor ?

Heavy period . Nothing for 3 years . On HRT.

    Yes you should they take all post menopausal bleeding seriously and will send you to see someone at a Gynae Clinic. Well they did me.

      Did they tell you that you would have an appt in 2 weeks ? They did me then called an hour later to tell me to stop HRT for 4 weeks . So I'm still in the dark really as they say the hospital won't see me until I've had 4 weeks off HRT. Seems strange that they would stop my HRT just like that ?

      I was still on hrt when they saw me. They examined me took a medical history then a scan which they did vaginal. I went back a couple of weeks later for hysteroscopy (camera into uterus and had biopsy x4 taken. That was my second time in two years that I had to have all the same tests. All down to hrt making my uterus patchy and thicker in places hence the bleeding. Changed hrt now though
