I suffer from BV.

Hi, I'v had BV for 1 1/2 yrs now. I'v been to 3 different Doctors have taken every kind of Meds including Boric Acid & nothing helps. My symptoms are burning, itching & irration and a grayish discharge.I do not have an odor ( for which I'm grateful) but nonetheless I am miserable & continually uncomfortable.I am afraid that it will NEVER go away & I guess I'm reaching out for some support.

I'm past childbearing age and have had the same boyfriend for 1 1/2 years.

Hi there, am sorry you have had so much trouble. I don't really have any advice as I am suffering as well and your symptoms sounds the same as mine. Had mine for nearly a year. I have tried Clindamycin cream which is an antibiotic as I struggle with normal antibiotics in pill form. And not been able to tolerate Metrodinazole at all even in the cream as am allergic. It is a nightmare. I have tried natural yogurt but thats not helped. I not heard of Boric Acid. I feel like I will have mine forever as well. I've been trying to get into hospital as I have polyps but they keep refusing me because of this BV. I thought of taking Acidophilus as it has the friendly bacteria but can't see it doing much. Is the burning you get feel like its in the lower part of stomach like bladder and ovaries? Mine hurts now. I suppose my last option will be metrodinazole which I will end up in bed with for a week. Cos I have to get into Hospital. First I am going to do another BV test to see if its still there which am sure it is as I just finished the Clindamycin cream. I know antibiotics can make it come back again. Sorry I don't have anything to suggest. Am at a loss like you are.

    Hello,

I have the same exact symptoms. There must be someone can help. I am currently seeking information to see a specialist. I will get back to you with what ever I learn.

Please let me know if you find a specialist for this. Is there such a doctor out there?

Not in Miami, Fl... I'v seen 3 Dr.s... The last couple of days I'v douched with Hydrogen Perxoid with water bc I was desperate for some relief... It worked for only a few days...

I will definitely update you. Do you know what triggered your reaction?

I think it would depend on their profession. I've seen a naturopath and a nutritionist who both said they specialized in this but it didn't help really all that much.  Infectious disease dr. would probably just perscribe antibiotics but might do more tests? I haven't been able to get a referral to one so I don't know

I have no idea. I have been suffering from this for many years now. I have done all the right things to help it and supposedly cure it, but nothing has gotten rid of it yet. I am currently using boric acid a couple times a week and that seems to make the symptoms less harsh. Someone suggested a few vitamin regimens that I may try.

It's just the worst. I saw online that some Dr.s do a Laser treatment, but ins doesn't cover it & it's expensive. I don't know if with Laser it comes back.

Wow, I hadn't heard about a laser treatment? I will search it online and see what I get.
