I was diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis in 2014

4 months ago i had a cold and sinus infection. I took the prescribed antibiotic and everything has gone away except for this chronic cough. As of lately (the past 3 days) it's become considerably worse and I have chest pain. Also I am pregnant. I have completely lost control of my bladder it has become quite embarrassing and depressing. I just don't know what to do about this? Being I'm pregnant all my doctors say eh perhaps its pregnancy related. Does sarcoidosis have flare ups? Does this sound like a sarcoidosis flare up to anyone? And how can you treat sarcoidosis safely while pregnant?

    Hi Natalie,

I too have pulmonary sarcoidosis diagnosed last March. Still on steroids but doing well. I was hoping to have another baby but my diagnosis but a stop to that as I was so ill. I have read up on it pregnancy can be good for sarcoidosis but it can also cause a flare up. It is safe to take low dose steroids while pregnant.

It would be better to discuss all this with your doctor/specialist.

Hope all goes well for you.

    Hi Natalie

    Congrats on your pregnancy!

Yes sarcoid can have flare ups.

Chronic cough is a common issue.

Bladder control issues can be pregnant related.

Steriods whilst pregnant is a specialist question that should not be answered by anyone on this forum. That question belongs fair and squarly in the doctors hands.

Best of luck with all you have ahead.

Hope all turns out well for you and baby.

    Regards
