    Hi Debi

If you have had these tests and I am sure you've had others too, and nothing found then please be rest assured there is Nothing Sinister there.... you need to deal with the problem you have,  stop worrying and just deal with what you have,

Agree with terry, nothing sinister. Its not just "what" you eat...but the 3 ...what, when...how much.

Does your diary indicate anything beyond "what" you ate?...Ours (not always) when (what time of the day...what we ate, and how much, plus how we felt. We've been able to with some degree of accuracy pin point what seems to affect us... Stress does matter.

Don't go too much on the food emphasis, concentrate more on the relaxing, soothing music/massage/ hypnotherapy if u like, take deep breaths and time out, try to stop worrying so much about all the issues and just go with the flow... Not easy I know but nothing worth its weight in gold is.....

Stress is a major factor in IBS.  If all the tests are negative, then you have only IBS to deal with.  I had three and a half months of tests which all came back negative and it only made me panic more.  I lost faith in the doctors reassuring me and my stomach pains got worse.  I then researched online to try and give them more to work on since some openly admitted that my symptoms were confusing and they didn't have a clue!  My googling sent my terror through the roof.

Only my IBS diagnosis brought me relief of panic and pain.  I had lived for this moment 24/7 every day.

    HI Debi,

So IBS are you saying can be caused by stress alone or are there other factors that can cause IBS, I have IBS, and also I have a fissure when I first went for consultation at the hospital, the specialist told me that Codine can cause a fissure, I am not one of those peeps to try and clain from who ever  perscribed the codine for what the tablets were for I do not know but why are they on the market if they can cause problems and advice would be great

      HI topper9

IBS is ''Not'' caused by stress alone, there are numerous factors depending on the individual, most IBS sufferers have at least 2 or 3 similar issues, Stress does play a huge part in suffering, and if that is treated many IBS sufferers will be helped dramatically, Codeine is noted for causing ''Constipation'' so a small dosage is best advised, but codeine with paracetamol works well 15/30mg is prescription only but they are a good ''duo'' Codeine can become very addictive and very rarely is it ever prescribed on it's own.

      HI terry81278,

Many thanks for your imput,I just wondered if Stress  would help and thats a good help from you thank you, its funny really as peeps can have stress without even knowing about it, and can be an inward stress and I suppose without knowing about it unless we try to combat it and let it get hold then maybe it has a knock on effect, if I am worried about something and although I am good at coping, I am not saying that I dont worry but tend to put it out of my mind then go back to the problem later as i am going through the end of my divorce and I want a quick settlemnet so I can move on with my life, maybe this helps with IBS

Hey, ''Never worry for the sake of worry'' Remember this, ''Most things don't matter much, and somethings don't matter at all''. If you try to live your life and remember what will be will be, good, bad, or indifferent. You will lead a fruitful and happy life and be surprised how you can achieve anything... Stress Kills, so try to avoid it....

      Hi Terry81278,

Thank you for your imput and yes ,I agree with you my mum used to worry if her hubby was out late she would sit up in bed until he was home and I vowed that I would not worry like her, I keep very busy as I have my own business but the times that I find my mind wandering is in the early hours of the morning before its time to get up, once I am up out of the bed i am fine then again sometimes late at night as somethings you cannot help sometimes as mentioned in previous  on forum, i am just out of a bad marriage and until x has done as she has been asked to do by the courts I cannot move on with my life because she has to do as courts ordered so this is a big worry, not a worry that its on my mind but a worry  that I cannot have forclosure she has moved on but I cannot I dont have any hangups about her just need her to  do the right thing end of rant lol

The ''Silent worry'' usually when trying to get to sleep and when you wake up are totally normal, everyone does it, that's why the pharmaceutical companies make billions out of sleeping pills, just for people like you and millions of others.Once your issues are over with your ''X'' you will be back on track and be fine....

''Time heals'' and you will look back on this as just a ''Blip in your life''

you may have a virus, which sets off the ibs; theres a lot of strange viruses around, which go away and then return; ibs is often related to sinus and nasal drip; i find its better not to eat all during the evenings, and eat broth/soup at other times; burning up, sweating can be good - it can be  sign of the body killing off the virus/etc
