Hi I'm on the THR forum as I had a full new hip 6 weeks ago on the other leg to my new knee...... All good on that score ....BUT my TKR which is now 2.1/2 years old is giving me MAJOR problems, which it never has before! From having to take the full strain of me having had the new hip on the other leg, it's given me huge searing pain and swelling! At one point I couldn't continue with the stairs and had to sleep on the couch downstairs for 9 days, no shower etc.horrific. My Dr & Physio have said after each incident, hamstring, tibial band, tendons along the knee and ruptured membrane, any of or all😱😱😱😱😱😱😱To me it feels like I have a steel vice tightly around my knee making it feel solid and restricted. Also sometimes I feel like the kneecap is inside out( weired I know) and some sharp pain go's ping in the back of my knee, like someone's karate chopped me at the back and the knee buckles and gives way!!!
I've spent weeks resting , icing , Volterol gel, pain patch .... You name it! It gets better to a point then go's again back to square one!!
I'm going crazy as I'm wasting valuable time building up my new hip because of this!!
You actually wouldn't believe go in for a hip and end up with the other leg/knee being the problem!!!
I'm seeing my surgeon on Tuesday re hip 6 week check and he'll look at the knee
I just want to know what it is??????? Dr and Physio say prosthesis is ok???!!!
HELP PLEASE.x

yes I can so relate having two fake hips and a fake knee, really puts one or  even both out of whack for a while...you have been walking a certain way because of your bad knee and bad hip. You get one fixed then walk a certain way then you get another fixed and here ya go again you walk a different way again.
actually it even put my back out and my shoulders....you are doing all the right things, the only thing I did different was have massages for all the joints. And I also swear pool work or hydro is amazing..
good luck....X

off-centered the implant was and recommended she go back to that same doctor for revision. Â Personally, I would NEVER let him touch me again and would probably sue him for malpractice!
I guess in your case a second opinion wouldn't hurt after all this time.
i know the pain you're dealing with and its not easy.
keep us posted on what your doctor says next week...GOOD LUCK!!

But having had 7 surgeries on one knee, sounds like mal practice to me.
no way would I ever get to that point.
