Lump in throat, morning sickness after bad stomach flu

Hey guys,

I am on post recovery from a very bad stomach flu which lasted about 2 weeks. My bowel movements have changed significatnly ive stopped going throughout the day and only seem to go in the morning, this is accompined with a bad lump feeling i get in my throat which doesnt go away unless i gag. sometimes i throw up bile my mornings have been so horrible. it seems to be worser the earlier i get up.

My doctor said it was constipation so i took 1 tablet of senokot max strength, it seemed to help a bit in the morning with the bowel movement but the lump in the throat is still here. i miss how my mornings used to be waking up without any sickenss feelings at all. Does anyone know the best way to heal this or if it will get better naturally because right now it seems to be getting in the ay of my daily life which is very annoying. I cannot eat till about 12pm midday it doesnt seem like my normal appetite has come back yet either sad

anyone else experienced the same feelings or issues

Thanks

Have you had a meeting with gastroentorologist yet and what did he say ? Do you know what's wrong ?

Yeah I had a meeting with him last Thursday so far I've done a ultra sound and some more blood tests. I'm seeing him again today to discuss the results.

I'm still unfortunately waking up with the worst sickness feeling ever prior to a bowel movement, still no appetite losing weight I'm just at my wits end now feeling extremely depressed everyday.

I wish I could help but I think that you are on the right track with this guy and hopefully he can start to give you answers on the results of whatever they have analysed in your bloodwork. Good luck with the meeting.

Thanks for the wishes and support I'm hoping too! My morning stools have started to become a lot more formed now rather then loose so I'm not sure if it's just taking a while for my body to fight whatever is going on inside my digestive system.

I tried to return to work last week but they sent me home as I was refluxing a lot.

Will keep you posted ! 😀

I had my update with the gastro specialist he confirmed all my blood tests regarding Bacteria and organs were normal he confirmed that it was viral gastroenteritis and made a follow up for the 1st October if it carries on then he said he would have to do an endoscopy to see exactly what's happening inside. I threw up some very sour acid which was a horrible experience this morning and then got sent home from work as I was refluxing to say I'm depressed is an understatement.

Hey im going to see my GI doctor again tomorrow i think he is going to want to perform an endoscopy and a colonosopy because the green stool and nausea is still happening in the morning, im getting super depressed from this but trying to keep a positive mind i know this may sound so strange but i cant wait for the day when my stool is brown like every other normal human! sad

Hi if the symptoms only came on after your illness then of course get them checked out by a doctor but also for yourself to help heal your gut in the mean time try and reduce your wheat and diary for now and take Quest Acidophilus (its a probiotic) and it should help with the constipation to.
