So today your GP has sent you to the hospital. Do you mean that he's referring you and you have to wait for an appointment or you're actually going to the hospital today? Either way the fact that you will be seen at a hospital is good. Worse case scenario is that it's cancer, but if it is the earlier you get treatment the better, much easier to cure in the early stages. It's that word "cancer" that scares people but cancer treatment has never been better than it is now. Stop worrying, you may have something far less serious than cancer. Keep in touch, we're all here to support you.

      Oh!dear Joy,

He is sending me urgently. The hospital will be in touch as soon as possible no more than 10 days. It's so scary. ... He checked me. I have not got any lamps doesn't hurt just burning sensation there. He said it can be precancerous. He doesn't know.

Thank you for your time! Want to get wine and forget as a nightmare.

It's always a shock when "cancer" is mentioned, I remember how I felt. So he said it may be pre-cancerous, that would be very good, easily treated. Can I ask whereabouts you live?

Bexleyheath. My tongue is green but it was just white looking back 3 months ago. I thought it was peri menopause 😢 lots of ladies think that burning mouth it's down to that.

You're very near to where I live. I've never heard of a burning mouth being connected to menopause and I had a horrendous menopause. Discolouration of the tongue can have many different causes, did he tell you which hospital he is referring you to?

Is that "Guy's Hospital" in London? If so it's one of the best, you'll be in good hands. I joined this forum months ago. I'd been diagnosed with lymphoma, didn't know anyone else who'd had it and was very worried. The forum helped me a great deal, listening to what other people are going through puts your own problems into perspective.

Joy, how are you now? How do you feel?

Many thanks to you for today!

      Blessings.

That's very interesting. Maybe there is a connection between the salivary glands problem and the issues you have now. Try not to stress, Guy's will sort it out whatever it is, Mike gave you good advice.

Hello Joy! I went to see ENT DOC yesterday.

Just my old appointment came up in time. He doesn't think at all that I have C. He said I have got some fungal issue. He checked my glands and look inside with the camera. Everything is fine even my sinusitis is nothing to worry. I feel a bit better but my burning sensation is back and dry mouth 😐. One thing is my period has started yesterday and I very noticed that that tingling started slowly around 2 days ago. I wonder if it's something to do with perimenopause?

I'm seeing Guy's specialist on Tuesday the 13th.

      Blessings

      Hi Joy!

I'm fine! No Cancer! I've done a blood test there. The Consultant said I have got burning syndrome mouth 😕 and it's happening when we get older 😊.

May be another doctor but he said my tongue is normal and wasn't impressed by GP's report. He even didn't put my latest blood test.

Thank you for your help and support.

      Kind regards to you!
