Memory and speech problems linked to meniers?

I have meniers and am trying to work out if my speech problems and memory are linked. I can say a sentence and the wrong word will randomly come out and also I forget things all the time. Does anyone else have these problems too?

Please consult your doctor - take a friend or relative with you for support - as your symptoms may not be anything to do with Meniere's and it is important to get the correct diagnosis and information.
Good Luck.

I have had md for several years, I have hearing loss in my left ear and wear a hearing aid to mask the ringing in that ear. I feel like my words get jumbled more and more, when I talk to someone, I have to slow down to find the right words, the wrong ones come out very often and may not even be related to the conversation. I am not sure if it is related to md or not but it's bothersome and I think I need to see a neurologist to rule out other causes.
keep us posted, good luck
Debbie

Hi Sarah,
I can say with certainty that there's a "brain fog" that's associated with MD. I get very confused when I'm going through an episode. I become very forgetful, my hearing gets way off, and it seems I don't have the mental energy to really figure things out if they don't make sense. I have often asked my doctor "Am I losing it?" It's like all of my energy is being poured into just functioning, and getting from point A to point B wthout falling down, and there's not much left over for thinking and processing.
For me, the proof that my brain fog was MD-related, was when my head cleared completely after intratympanic steroid injections. When my inner ear settled down, it was like I got my brain back! I was "my old self" again.
But something as important as speech and memory problems should probably be checked out by a specialist. It will ease your mind to know if it's just part of the MD fog. And if it's something else, you'll be addressing it early and be able to get on the appropriate treatment regimen. Either way, early intervention is always the better choice!
Wishing you the best of luck. I know what's it's like to be "muddled" for extended periods, and it's no good.
Take good care.

Hi Jackie,
You're attributing your memory loss and speech problems to being 50? I think you have many years to go yet, before you have to start accepting that as normal! :-)
All the best,
