Hi there...I'm 35 and was just diagnosed 3 weeks ago but have been having trouble since last November. If you google: computer monitor triggering vertigo, you will see an article....the second one: vertigo causes/symptoms /treatment /uc Irvine ca. It is a very good read. I have issues with my computer screen triggering my vertigo so that is why I was searching it like that.

Hope its not the computer screen

Yeah...seems to me everyone is different...some get different triggers but for me so far it is the computer screen, driving, weather changes, and sometimes just being in a store...it's so strange. I am doing the low sodium thing...not perfectly but I'm trying and I cut out all caffeine which I believe has helped with my tinnitus. I also take 3 Valium a day...one benadryl and these histamine phosphate drops under my tongue. Something has helped...I think it is a combo of the meds and the weather stabilizing more recently. However I have been having a harder time today but we have a storm system moving in. If I could just get the computer and driving issues fixed...those are major things for me...I work all day on a computer.

    Hi, Can I just add-

I've had this horrid disease since I was 40 (now 54)... My father had it from the age of 26 to the day he died at 78...My partner has had it since the age of 32 (now 55).... His father had it from the age of 28 until the day he died at 75....

    It affects us all differently....

It didn't make a jot of difference what I didor didn't do - for the first year I had full blown, lie on the floor, vertigo attacks for 12 hours at a time, every other day - I took pills, cut out salt, saw the top docs,  etc.... My dad had clusters of vertigo attacks which lasted 6 months at a time.... Oh and I didn't have a computer then...

Yes MD is fairly rare in 16 year olds but my specialist has seen quite a few 14 to 18 year olds with MD.... just ask to be referred to a specialist to be sure of a correct diagnosis.

I'd like to say that my life with MD has been ok, but it hasn't - I will never work again - have no balance (partly due to surgery) I'm not allowed to drive, and have lost count of the suicidal tendencies because of the "no cure" situation

Contact the Meniere's Society - the have the true facts about MD

That's just awful! I have read about people that are so bad they practically live in their bed! I can't imagine...I thought having to crawl from the bathroom to my bed was the worst! I tell myself that regardless of how bad I have it, someone out there has it worse...

The trouble is it can fluctuate such a lot, i seem to get vertigo attacks in clusters like my dad did, then the vertigo goes away for a while. My partner has random attacks with no pattern to them at all, it's so soul destroying - i know there are worse things to have out there, but this is such a pain sometimes, my life seems to be permanently on hold

Yeah I feel like something is coming because of the weather...I have woke up with a headache the last two mornings and the tinnitus seems louder...those are usually signs for me. :-/

I have been trying acupuncture for 2 months and it helped me a lot. my vertigo attacks lasted 6 or 8 hours before acupuncture after 2 months it decreased to 4 or 5 hours. you should try it too maybe it can help.

I tried acupuncture too. Not sure if it helped or not. I was better after it, but I think I would have been anyway, as the stress in my life was reduced.
