My iPad froze on me. What I want to know is I'm already on Propanolol and Sumpertription. Today I wasut on sertraline for the first 4 days half a tablet then to increase thereafter. The doctor was a horrid man and very Obnoxious . I told him about my mood swings and migranes and that I'm peri! How do I know I'm peri he kept asking I sat and explained all the systems I'm having, about my migranes how frequent they are my mood swings going round and bl...dy round I was in circles!. He then simply wrote a perscription out handed it to me said take these they may make you feel sick the first week but please stick with them! they are Sertraline. Are they a depresent? I'm to take half a tablet for the first 4days then to increase thereafter. Any advice ? Help? I'm taking 80mg of pranolol a day and Sumertription when a migrane attack starts, now to take these tablet's. Anyone please. Xx

Hi Michelle sorry you are having such a bad time .

Sertraline is an antidepressant and you may experience some side effects for s couple of weeks but these usually subside . Are you taking propanalol for anxiety? Hopefully the sertraline may help with this . I hope you feel better soon .

    Hi michelle

Some people experience nausea or dry mouth but they go after couple of weeks . The migraines must be awful for you .Do you see a specialist for your migraines? Maybe that's something to think about if it's just your g.p treating them.

    best of luck

To be honest it's only since I have started the big P (Peri) that my symptoms have become worse. I started to become peri back in Novemeber 2014 we sold our home and moved into a new build. I should of been jumping with happiness. But I wasn't I couldn't understand why I was feeling like I was? It wasn't till  I came across this site January this year that I realised what /and why I was going through!. I just couldn't understand!. Now it all clicks in. Beng then put on Pronanolol in jan as I had 1 week of solid migranes I was migrane free for a few months but there ugly head reared again Due to my mood swings, when they kicked in I suffered with a migrane. I'm probably likely to suffer now for years, the doctors are horrible I have seen 3 now and not one was nice. I may change surgery. Do I have to get a referral from a GP to see a specialist?. Cheers Joanne.
