My boyfriend's laryngitis is not getting better

Posted , 3 users are following.

He has been suffering from this for 3 weeks now.

He took meds and all but it is actually getting worse. He has been doing all he could to make

his throat better but last time we checked

with a doctor, it didn't get better but worse.

Could laryngitis relate to the bronchiectasis or

infection ? I am worried sick..

Please help

    Hi lovedoc,

I'm pretty sure I responded to you before or someone with the same complaint - I had laryngitis like that for several weeks and it happened to be following back surgery but not immediately after.  It was several weeks after, I believe, and I went to specialist who checked my voicebox and told me to breathe steam.  I had nothing wrong with v.box and breathing steam helped and cough drops; and an OTC nasal inhaler with a steroid. It eventually cleared up.  I'd suggest going to yet another ENT or better yet if you can find one, an Allergist because what if it's simply from post nasal drip caused by allergies?  I've had that for years and never realized It was causing a problem.  I do know that two different doctors can have different treatments and opinions and if you're desperate then why not?

Let us know if he gets it cleared up.

Actually We just found out that he has throat cancer..

that was why his symptoms lasted for his case.

Also another cancer in his lung area...

      Thank you though.
