Nasal Polyps. Please Help!

I have just been diagnosed has having Nasal polyps. My symptoms have been so bad that I havn`t worked in 14 years.  I have the usual symptoms of breathing difficulty, stuffy nose, facial pain & a post nasal drip.  I also have other symptoms like dizziness/lightheadness, blurry vision, pressure in my head.  I feel like I am walking on a bouncy castle 24/7.  i wanted to know if anyone else who has nasal polyps, has ever experienced any dizziness or eye sight problems. I have had my eyesight checked recently and its near perfect yet I cannot see properly.  I would be very grateful for any input.  Thank u

That sounds like a bad case - sorry to hear it. Have you already spoken to your doctor about the dizziness, vision problems and feeling of pressure? Are you taking any medication (e.g. steroid spray) and if so, could these be a side effect? I would definitely speak to the doctor (again if need be) if these symptoms persist, and maybe get a second eye test to be on the safe side (if cost is an issue and you're in the UK, some branches of Specsavers do free checks, and there are often vouchers in local magazines or online for them or Boots or whoever else). Good luck!

I have the same trouble.  When I lost the use of my arm for few seconds I went to the doctor and was given a steroid spray, symptoms gradually improving but I still have the pressure, llightheadednes and slight dizziness with eyesight problems.  I had this spray a few years ago when I had sinusitus so I am hoping it will work as it did then,

I have been suffering from a phantom smell of smoke for 4 months along with many other weird symptoms including earache, toothache, dizziness, excessive pressure in my head and just latterly problems with my eyesight.  I eventually went to my GP who referred me to an ENT clinic whereby I had a camera up my nose and a CT scan (which I am still waiting the results of).  The diagnosis from the camera was nasal polyps which in my case were only fairly small.  I have been taking corticosteroid tablets for 3 days but my symptoms have been getting worse especially the pressure in my head.  I will however persevere as I only have to take them for another 3 days and then go onto steroid drops and a steroid spray.  Having read up about this complaint it seems there is no permanent cure but only preventative medicine.   Hope this helps - have you been to your GP?

My doctor did not send me to an ENT specialist - just gave me the steroid spray.  I asked how long I should use it and he said indefinitely and he himself has used one for 7 years.  The blockage especially at night persisted for some weeks but I was fine during the day. My head no longer felt full of concrete  with no dizziness. Now I can cope most of the time at night as the little blockage I do have does not keep me from sleeping.  If I have been under stress, it is worse.  You will have to persevere with a steroid spray but I hope you become at least as clear as I am.
