I'll leave someone with more experience with hemorrhoids to deal with that advice but I had to respond to the rest of your message. I'm sorry to hear that your issues been causing you difficulty and has been interferring with your enjoyment of life. I've been dealing with different issues the last few months and I'm 30 so I know what you mean about feeling disappointment etc... just know that this is a period of adjustment and that you will get through it. And honestly, a girl who loves you won't care about anything like that. Chin up, stay positive. I'm sure others can help with more advice. :-)

Don't worry so needlessly about love. I met the man of my dreams when I'd gained nearly 20lb in water weight from bloating.

If you don't let your ailments get in the way, then your love won't either!

I have diverticular disease coupled with chronic ibs... I also have haemorrhoids...that make a painful and bloody appearance when the diarrhoea symptoms of my ibs flare up.

The best way I find to manage it is to strictly control what I'm eating.

Now ibs symptoms are massively alleviated by eating low FODMAP foods..

But they tend to be very low in fibre.

I don't suffer the haemorrhoids and diverticulitis when my ibs is in check... So, despite sounding counter-productive, eating a low FODMAP/low fibre diet and taking a senna tablet every evening massively reduces the pain I suffer with haemorrhoids and diverticular disease.

There'll be plenty more people on here offering you helpful suggestions as well. Try what you think makes sense.

Good health to you, Sandeep! Xxx

I agree with another post. It's very important you eat the correct foods. For my hemorroids, I brought them under complete control by not eating anything spicy or acid like tomatoes or orange Juice. (study medical online web sites like web MD to learn more) When you get flare ups my GI doctor said to put some vasoline on your small finger and insert it into your anus. I tried it and it worked great. Then once I got my diet under control, I no longer needed the vasoline. I think the problem for me originated with Gall Bladder problems. The extra bile caused inflammation in the intestines. Once I avoided meats and went Vegan, I was much improved. You should get a second opinion from another doctor specialists though. You will be fine.

One last note: every time you have a loose bowl movement, be sure to cleanup very good with water otherwise it will burn and hemmeroids with expand. Take a shower each time you have loose bowl movement when you are able to. Once you get the diet under control everything will improve. There are over the counter and prescriptions medicines too when it is real bad. Keeping the area clean is critical after bolw movements. Sitting on a pillow shaped like a lifesaver will help too. I would hold off on excercise until you get it under control. Check with a doc though. Your situation may be different than mine

      1. Use a prescription hemorroid suppository to start getting them under control. (give it time).

      2. Avoid any foods that have a high acid content like orange juice or tomato juice/sause. Avoid nuts (big no no).

      3. Every single time you have a loose bowl movement, clean the area with a water spray, then insert your small finger in petrolium jelly, and insert it into your anus. This will protect the hemmroids from continued burning and swelling.

      4. Eat things like Oat meal and rice. I'm not sure but I think they reduce the acid in the intestines if your body is releasing too much for whatever reason. Last resort, take a teaspoon of baking soda with each meal. Make sure you stop using salt with meals and reduce sodium so you don't get too much.

      5. last resort, If you can't get the hemmroids into remission, check with a specialist/ surgeon to see if they need to be operated on.

      6. Most times I think you can get them under control without any operations. They really swell and hrut when you are doing all the wrong things. I never thought I would be able to improve my situation but the swelling can be controlled and go down. Very important to keep area clean and eat the right things/ avoid acid foods. Goggle online to learn more. I am no expert. Just saying what worked for me. I had the runs 5 to 7 times for two years.

Note, If you are not home you cannot take a shower to clean anus/ hemmroids with a spray of water. Roll up about 5 wads of tolit paper after diarreha and wet them to clean up anus. Don't worry about excess use. More trees will grow. At home, always takke a shower and spray clean the area with water. That is the only thing that really works to stop the burning and swelling. And insert the petrolium jelly. You can get this under control. The sweeling will go down unless like I said, you need the operation. that is last resort.

    Hi Sandeep,

I agree with James.. Very important to keep the area clean.  Weird as this may sound go to the kitchenware section of any store and find a ketchup/mustard squirt bottle type dispenser. use this to spray your back side with semi warm/cool water when you have a bm.  the rubbing from toilet tissue is eliminated. then just pat dry, not rub using a facecloth.  I had internal bleeding for almost a month when I was first diagnosed with Diverticulitis and thought the worst.  My doctor gave me some good advice and now I follow it each time.  Also (another weird thing) baby butt cream works wonderfully to stop the irritation, pain and discomfort.
