my GP has put me on Ramipril, he has told me to take 2.5mg for one week, then take 5mg for a week then 10mg from then on, I am concerned as it seems a high dose.

when is the best time to take them, is bedtime a good time, just I case I get the dizziness?

Ho Odette, it doesn't really matter when you take them as long as it's the same time every day. You are right, though, to mention dizziness. My pharmacist suggest taken them at night. One thing to watch out for with Ramapril is the cough. I put up with it for 2 months, but then my gp put me on a drug call Candesartan.

    Good luck.

    Hi

this must be for high BP? I have not heard of a GP ramping up the dose like that.

Certainly at 10mg my experience was that I was unable to plan after taking for 10 days, and I sat thinking about who was going to die next that I knew! There are many side effects, see online. I suggest buying your own BP kit - about £13.50 online and checking your progress at the 5mg level. Try one garlic tablet daily also and monitor.. good luck.
