    Hi

I feel for you. My left shoulder started may it's now firmly stuck even after 3 injections. Advised options are physi/ manipulation it surgery but is doesn't sound like I have a choice it's the consultants decision or program decision?

I unfortunately started with pain in both shoulders but my left one was worse unfortunately my right one is also starting frozen stage and I was told this can happen also 50%chance return. So sorry and really hoping for you as we are all different a slight trauma of my wrist is to blame for left one but apparently bursitis can cause it also. May I ask what treatment you had please

My first fs on my right I had MUA/arthroscopy/SAD and the surgeon cleared the rest of the adhesions out.........that was last year (started july 2014 though) didn't get treatment until feb 2014......This second fs started march/april this year  sad  Have seen surgeon who requsted further xrays and ultrasound & he has said he will operate again. So my biggest worry is that it is about to refreeze in my right shoulder as I'm getting that awful tell tale sign of pain  sad  I will be asking the surgeon to have a look at it again when I next see him........I just wanted someone to tell me No you can't get it again in the same shoulder  sad

I can't even begin to think what it is like to suffer two at the same time.....its just such a debilitating disabling depressive extremely painful misunderstood condition  sad

I wish you a rapid healing period  smile

Oh mine has no known cause and I'm not a diabetic or have thyroid problems - just extremely unlucky  sad

Really feel your pain and it's so debilitating , can't dress myself or dry myself and my hair!!! Grrr I have naturally curly hair so I currently look like I've had my hand in an electric socket!!!

Take care. Thinking of you. Very gentle hugs

I was told can only get it once per side. Hope that it is true. You may have pulled something in the second side from overuse good luck

I had FS, Xiaflex injections was helpful in release of tissue build up restricting movement.

Xiaflex is a protien designed to break away the collagen tissue causing the shoulder to freeze. See Xiaflex online. It has been approved by the FDA in US  in 2014 . I  had it done on frozen shoulder and frozen fingers.

there is more info online. I hope Xiaflex is available to you. Ask a specialist about it. Or go online for a referal,to see air in your area from the manufacturer. I highly recommend it. It takes a few days to work after the injection, in my case I waited 2 weeks, then you go back in to see the dr and he manunipulates the shoulder to move since the tissues has been

      eliminated by Xiaflex.

No no surgery as in my case surgery was a risk and could have caused it to get worse.

Really???? I don't think they offer this in the UK but I will ask my surgeon about it when I next see him...........

I know some people are very very brave and sit it out until fs thaws on its own but I'm getting so depressed with this awful condition that for me I have to have surgery! My life has stopped in its tracks!! I can't drive as a can't change gear now - so I've become a bit of a recluse just like last time! So for my own sanity I will be getting surgery and it can't come quick enough!!!!! It teriffies me to think you could still get it twice in one shoulder! once in both is bad enough!!!!! Why is there not much research into this vile complaint I'll never know!!!!!

If by surgery you mean cutting and blood and all that ask about if you could do manipulation under anesthesia instead. I did that and had a major improvement in Rom and less pain right away.

I've had it twice (once in each shoulder), and let time heal them both. No injections, no surgery, as I didn't want to force any issue. So far I feel like I've built up some kind of immunity and thus can't get it again. I hope that is true for both of us! Best of luck, Mike.
