Not again!

Ten days ago, while playing basketball my hobby for nearly 40 years, I tore my Achilles for the third consecutive time! Specialist administered a cast though no scan was done to establish whether it's been all ruptured  or partially. I'm worried as to what may happen next. Any ideas/help?

Thanks

I would ask for a scan and find out.  My partner has only just found out his is 60% torn, and he did his on the 20 Sept.  It's taken that long to get a scan then see the doc.  It doesn't sound to good doing it for the 3rd time... maybe time to consider giving up the basketball i'm afraid.

Gods advice. I don't think I will play it again!

I definitely need a scan so as to determine the extent of the injury.

      Thanks

Ouch! I reinjured my achilles 3 months post surgery. I can't imagine going through that 3 times!

A few people have told me they actually had a donor/cadaver tendon after rupturing their achilles. Maybe this could be an option for you? I feel like after 3 ruptures you're probably better off with a brand new tendon hahasmile
