Hi again all. Currently on day 16 of 20mg flu and was just diagnosed with A-fib. Does anyone out there also have this condition while taking Flu? I have been assured by different medical professionals (including at my regular cardiology office) that it's fine to continue taking the Flu as it has been deemed not related to the cause, but I don't see an actual cardiologist until Nov 9th. I am concerned about potential QT-interval prolongation (my value on EKG could be described as "borderline." Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

Over the years I have developed palpitations and skipped heart beats and the anxiety was driving me nuts. I felt like I was going to die...I still do sometimes...anyway, doc put me on Flu and my anxiety went away instantly 10 mg/day. I find I have less palpitations now because the ones that were brought on by anxiety, don't happen. I still have them every day, but the Flu helped overall. Did you start at 10 mg or right at 20 mg? Why are you taking it, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Cathrine - I took Flu in the past (almost 7 years ago) for post-partum depression and in October I was diagnosed with a recurrence of depression and anxiety. I also have a congenital heart disorder known as Tetralogy of Fallot which seems to be the cause of my atrial flutter (I apparently was never actually experiencing fibrillation). I had a catheter ablation on Dec 8th which seems to have gone well but my understanding is that it can take a few weeks to really heal. So I always had heart issues due to structural problems with which I was born. But the recent heart issues didn't start happening until I was on Flu again for almost a month. It's definitely helped me too so I feel like that's one less thing

Hi smorse84...I actually stopped taking the med 2 days ago. All of a sudden, after about 3 weeks, I got so sleepy all day and unmotivated and felt very weird...plus, I got worse panic attacks than I had before. I can't do what people say to do and that is push through it. I just got to scared and quit the meds. I hope you will be okay. The doc did tell me about the ablation option and I'd love to know how that works for you. Take care! X0
