I'm 18 years old. I recently noticed that one of my testicles is noticeably smaller than the other. Do I have a problem to be concerned about?

    Hello! :-)

Having one testicle that's smaller than the other is normal and is nothing to be conserned about, unless the biggest of the testicles has been enlarged. Of some reason the left testicle usually seem to hang lower than the right one with most guys, which also is normal. Do you feel any pain in your largest testicle? I should believe that everything is fine in your case unless you feel any discomfort. Variations in size is very common. However, checking the testicles regularly yourself is a good thing for all men, to ensure there's no lumps to find which should't be there.

Thanks for the reply. I don't feel any pain or discomfort in any of the testicles although the smaller one seems kind of underdeveloped. Is there a possibility of growth or something after 18? Thanks.

      Hi again! :-)

How big would you say the difference in size is between your left and right testicle? Are we talking about twice the size, then you could consider to talk to your doctor about it and have him/her examine you. I've heard that up to 25% difference might be normal, but there could be something causing it aswell (such as lack of bloodcirculation or other reasons). I'm no specialist, but know people who's got a small testicle without it representing a problem to them. If you worry, then ask your GP the next time that you've got an appointment. It sounds more embarrasing than it is, as he/she's used to all of this :-) At your age, your testicles would likely be fully developed or about so, but again that varies some from person to person. I can't give you a clear answer, as there are different reasons why testicles varies in size, and although it's likely to believe that you're not having a problem that needs attention (as it's rather common), you could have it checked to be certain. Wishing you good luck whatever you choose to do. :-)

Thank you for your help. I think I'll consult a doctor, although from what you said, it doesn't look like much trouble. Thanks again.
