I really don't know how to descrobe whats going on with me, I just need some help finding a way to reduce my pain and live day to day. I have reduced sensation / numbness on my left thigh. I have joint pain primarily in my hips and knees. I ache as if I've been exercising yet I haven't nor have I left the house really in 3 years. I have pain in my lower back. I wouldn't say I have good days but some days are better than others. I often have pinging, popping or fizzing sensation in random areas of my body. It is so difficult to explain. If anyone can relate to what I'm feeling or wants to ask any questions please reply or send me a message.

    Hi Emma,

You haven't said if you seen a doctor, if you haven't they do so as there are plenty drugs to help ease the pain, you are not alone in experiencing severe pain

    Good luck

Thank you both for your responses. I haven't been to the doctor, if I'm honest I am worried about what they might say. I find it really hard not to fear the worst! I have tried paracetamol and ibroprofen aslo codiene but they seem to do little to ease it. I have spoken to a doctor who says it is most likely due to posture and nerve impingement or over activity. How can I address that and begin to make positive changes?

Wow Emma, If I didn't know better, I would think your writing your entry for me. I will be 60 on Wednesday, and have been terrified of what any Doctor will find since I was 10 or 12. I am sure I have made my love ones miserable my whole life. I remember back in the mid 70s talking to an elderly lady about a sickness I thought I had but was afraid to go to the Dr.. I will never forget her laughing and saying that she had lived a thousand deaths in her 80 years.

About 7 months ago I woke up with a bad crick in the left side of my neck. It took about a month to heal but left me with a visibly crooked neck and a stiff popping shoulder, but no vertebrae pain.

About three weeks ago I started having stabbing, burning, tingling, numbing pain , especially in my hands and fingers as well as my feet and toes.

The crazy thing about it is that, take all the neurapathy symptoms away and I feel great, good appetite, no fatigue, sleep well.

I like you keep hoping this very uncomfortable pain will get better with me changing a few bad habits. I am a retired 30 year firefighter, so I have always stayed in shape, but now, walking or lifting weights causes my joints to feel very Artheritic. As long as I am setting on the sofa in a correct posture, I have no pain. I feel that somehow my entire situation started with a crick that left me with a crooked neck, but I won't know until I seek professional help. Setting around wandering makes all type things run through my head, which is really much worse, so your not alone. Thank you for your post and good luck.

I do hear what you are saying but I suppose the other reason not to go to the doctors is that I'd prefer to make lifestyle changes and if at all possible use alternative ways of treating this than take painkiller after painkiller!

I find that when I lay on my left propped up on my elbow a bit the sensations are at there worst.

It's been 3 years now since this all started and I am hoping someone has felt these sensations and pain and can share what they have done to help.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and reply.

I was thinking - I do yoga but some of these tecniques that are done by a yoga teacher does help with posture.  Sometimes I sit, because I am at the computer and tend to bend my head to type, and go round and round with my neck - it pops a few times, but honestly I can't see anything wrong with my neck.   Bad posture usually creates all sorts of problems.  I believe Pilates helps too with posture.

I don't think I could do anything without medication, with 3 prolapsed discs (and possibly more) I have to be v careful. but i can do yoga. Hatha yoga is the name of the yoga I'm talking about.  You need to go to someone though that can tell you that your posture is wrong - chiropractor?   I have been to them since I was in my 30s and they have put me riight. You have to do something !!!!
