    Hello!

You have had QUITE a ordeal for such a long time. Surgery in itself is a huge trauma let alone when your body has replacement parts added or repair parts put in to fix problem areas.

I was just wondering if you had seen any holistic doctors who look at you as a WHOLE BODY and not just someone with many issues that cause pain.

Sometimes looking at the WHOLE BODY gives insight that helps everything to be better.

I don't know if you are a believer in God. If you ARE, please let me know. I have experienced many miracles and seen miracles in others. I do not want to offend you, however, if you are not a believer.

    Hoping to hear from you!

Hi Chery thank you for your comment the answer to your question about see a holistic doctor is no how wouldi be able to contact one i live in the Kent area. Sorry i am not a believer in god as i think ifthere wassuch a person he would'nt let so many people suffer the way we all do. I am at the end of my tether now and do not know what to do i guess its back to the doctors again to have him increase the tablets i so hard want to come of.

Some doctors treat only the parts that we mention to them and seem to forget that we are more than just our aches and pains. Other doctors will help us to manage pain in other ways such as accupuncture, yoga, and seeing a chiropractor.

If you want to get off pain meds it may be helpful to look outside the box, so to speak, and seek different solutions than those you have already tried.

I wish you the best in your journey toward feeling better.

I feel so bad for anyone in so much pain.  I also have pain (& I am a believer)  & I recently got over a long bout with dizziness that lasted 10mos.  I said all kinds of prayers now I have to start over again for my neck pain (smiling).  My neck has so much arthritis & it started at a young age.  Now I am an older person & it is doing a number on me.  I go from doctor to doctor.  I am not seeking narcotics but I do have tylenol w codeine.  I have the bottle for a year & only took 1 pill. (make me dizzy)  I feel like my poor hubby must be so sick of my whining but no one knows how it feels.  My description would be hot bricks on my shoulders (was told surgery wouldn't help me).  Should be typing either.

Thanks for allowing me to vent.

      Hi Marie!

My husband speaks of hot places on HIS skin and also has bours of dizziness. He has diabetes and was told the hot feeling as well as shooting pains that he gets out of the blue in all different parts of his body are due to neuropathy.

His aunt has Vertigo, and he thinks maybe he has it, too.

Maybe the issues you are having are ADDITIONAL symptoms of other things. Maybe there are different treatments that could work better for you.

Narcotics make me VERY LOOPY. My body doesn't tolerate much of anything, so I stick to Ibuprofen and Tylenol.

Have you tried Icy Hot roll-on? I use it on my lower back and sacrum area. It buys me several good hours of sleep!

Sending prayers of calm and strength to you tonight!

Thank you Chery.  I will accept prayers anytime.  I feel the same as you with strong medications.  I recently was told that Ibuprofen & all meds in that category do not mix with blood pressure pills.  Tylenol is ok..  I have been using Aspercreme with lidocaine.  I also have lidocaine patches.

I would see the voo doo queen if I knew it would help smile  Yes nerve pain can throw some heat.  Thank you for you concern.

Haven't heard about issues with BP meds and Ibuprofen, but I DO KNOW that my GASTROENTEROLOGIST is NOT happy with me taking anything containing aspirin!

He says I should take Tylenol, but it doesn't do ANYTHING for me for swelling or pain or inflammation. I hate having to go against his wishes, but he isn't having my PAIN, my SWELLING, or my INFLAMMATION either!

The patches work well! The roll-on is good, too because, like the patches, you don't have to get any cream on your hands.

Wishing you lots of pain-free days!

You are right, the doctors have no idea of your pain.  The patches are so expensive.  My granddaughter gave me a bunch as she never uses them.

I have the drug neurontin & it is 300mg (low dose I am told). Started to take it & was urged to go to 600mg.  Last night I did that & I am so tired & loggy that I feel depressed.  All we want is one normal day!!!  I believe I need to get 100mg & up the dose like that.  My pain decreased but I feel useless.   I have - like your said- inflammation & pain & stiffness

Happy Saturday ----it is a gray day

It rained all day here. I have to admit, I DO enjoy NOT having to water the grass, the garden, weed, etc. and like watching the rain making everything greener!

I was a Lazy Lucy today! I made hot tea and watched TV all rolled up in my nice soft blanket.

I think we all need lazy days! It feels good to slow it down and just REST!

Here's to all other Lazy Lucy people tonight!

Hi--Did you say you were in an auto accident or is it just bad luck?  And do you see pain specialist?  I am a senior person & almost have to beg for pain meds.  I never have had a surgery only injections.  Now the pain guy suggested burning nerves in my neck (while you are awake so you can direct him).  Can't commit to that just yet.

I really don't like any meds that make my head feel weird even muscle relaxers.

Your meds are what I call the "big guns* I don't know what else they could give you.  I wish you well.

Hi Marie, my story is a long one but im not going to go into all the details. I will tell you that I was in a bad wreck over 20 yrs ago. Pain meds helped but stil had alot low back pain and hip, pelvic pain. I started with the cortizone injections then with the radio-frequency procedures, which burns the nerve endings. Not sure this is what you are talking about.  But the nerves grow back from 9 to around 13 months for me, and is very painful during the procedure. and I stay sore anywhere from 2 to 5 days afterward. Now it may be different for other people and I have them in my low back. I don't want to scare you out of having this done. They do numb the area but it is stilll painful at times. My pain doc got a new pc of equipment that made it less painfull but it did help me most of the time so I did keep getting them. And I was told that i had to have some type of procedure done to keep receiving my pain meds. And i cannot do much of any thing without pain meds because i am in so much pain. But 5 wks ago he took me off my methedone and muscle relaxers and put me on a pain patch which i had a bad reaction to and it felt like I would have been in less pain if i had taken the patchoff. i will skip all these details. could not get any help from pain dr or hospital. it had been about or close to ayear since my last precedure on my back and the pain in my lower back felt like someone hit me over and over and over again with a baseball bat.  I beleive that was from those radio frequency procedures. the nerves growing completely back or nreve damage. And it could have been shingles pain because from all the pain ive ben in, ive had another breakout on old areas ive had shingle and new places too from all the stress from being in so much pain.  But I will never get those procedures again. and am currently looking for a new pain management dr. before you make your mind up i hope other people will tell you about their experiences with those procedures and hopefully on the neck area. It may be different than my experience.  I go to my main dr monday and i hope he changes my meds to something that will help me. I wish doctors could live in our bodies for a month to see how they would handle the pain that we deal with on a daily basis. Maybe they would be more caring and listen to us when we tell them what is going on with our bodies and if we have a bad reaction to a drug they put us on instead of thinking they know best. because sometimes they don't.  I probably vented a little too much  I try not to complain but sometimes its just hard not too.   good luck  and thanks

Sounds like we all want a normal day.  I too get tearful.  Your are not ungrateful.  May I ask about how old are you.  My neck pain has also been for a number of years but this is a long "flare up".
