Hi everyone,
just a late night update about my trocantic bursitis, I think they may be wrong, as I have researchedthis online, it seems that the pain they describe is diffrent from mine, I'm worried I may have (Femoral osteolysis following total hip replacement) if you google this it explains everything, my pain is in my left butt radiating down the back of my thigh, it;s worse when sitting but now its so bad when i walk I'm back on 2 crutches, so 2moro I'm off to see my gp, I'm not going to be fobbed off I need an MRI.
hope you all had a great weekend,
Love to all,
Lynne x

You go girl!
Only you know how you feel - ask for what you want and make sure you get it
You are the one suffering - no one else
Let us know how you get on
Sleep well

Just to give people some hope- I'm just over a year now and while I'm still not 100% I am seeing improvements. I'm pretty fit and active so assumed I'd be a fast healer but not so. Trochanter Bursitis, imbalances, lots of loss of glute strength, some nerve issues, etc.. have taken a LONG time to subside.
I'm living on having patience, high pain tolerance assisted by pain killers plus a good dose of being scared to go back in to the Surgeon's in case there is something that they suggest surgery for as I want to see how I continue to progress before I go that route again!
Good luck and I hope it's nothing surgical but something that subsides with time for you.

I also have pain in the (Right = operated side) butt and was convinced that there was something wrong with the hardware ... went to see my GP and argued with him as I did with Physical therapist - they explained to me that it was not the hardware - the hip joint is more in front of the butt and this pain was caused by the big muscle - (forgot the name) - because I was doing more, like driving,, going in and out of the car, shopping, using low (normal) toilet seats, walking without walker or cane .... PT massaged that muscle and was right on spot.....
so, hopefully it is that muscle and not Femoral osteolysis -
good luck and please let us know !!!
warm hug
