I broke my arm two months ago , top of humurus, two weeks later at fracture clinic was told head of humurus and socket fractured and joint pushed out by haematoma. Fractures have healed but joint still out and now they have said nerve damage? Off to nerve clinic and physio but my arm is as good as useless and I want to go back to work. Any thoughts? They don't seem to want to operate?

I've tried to reply twice but my computer keeps crashing. Well done on your fracture healing. It's the side effects that are so dispiriting. When you see the nerve specialist, politely insist/ persevere until they come up with a solution. I saw a hand Physio this week as I have ongoing pain/ swelling/ tingling. He examined the tendons etc and doesn't think they are ruptured . I've been given additional exercises but have asked to go back in 2 weeks to check progress. Good luck.

I feel exactly the same - anyone would. I originally thought I'd be back to normal in 6 weeks! I live in a rural area with little public transport so not being able to drive is really inconvenient. Like you, my arm is next to useless. I just have to celebrate small triumphs. This week I can eat with a knife and fork- sort of!! Husband cuts up meat!!
