There areally many women including me who have gone in to have children. When i was first diagnosed early in my 20s, and way before thoughts of children, I wish sometime had told me to follow a low carb diet (look up insulin resistance) and keep BMI below 25. When planning pregnancy look up Zita West's online advice (she was one of my local midwives before stardom and is reputable even if the clinic bearing her name is not)

I have a great family and my mum has come with for every doctors appointment

Well you've learned very early which can feel devastating, but is actually an advantage.  Take heart - there are some well-known mums of 4 (like Victoria Beckham) who have the condition.
