peripheral neuropathy and annular tears.

Has anyone suffered from peripheral neuropathy due to an annular tear between L4 and L5. I would be grateful for any replies to this as the condition is extremely distressing.
Many thanks.

Hi for anyone who has things like this or disc problems accompanied with other things get checked thorough asap. Learned this myself as been getting told for months I have just a slipped disc and little scoliosis from start of July. Found out on Tuesday from a spinal specialist yes indeed my disc at L5 S1 is done and needs attention but as I've been saying for months the little scoliosis is my back being angled and skewed off centre from my neck till three quarters of the way down my spine. Verdict probably nothing that can be done with it as too risky an op so think the scoliosis theory has went out the window.I lean over to my right hand side and probably never straighten up. Fifty fifty I'll never work again I've been told . Find out next week at spinal hospital. Anyone out there only take diagnosis from a spinal specialist or surgeon and indeed demand to see one if you feel that an issue is seriously upHope this helps at least one person get back to full normality. End of the day it's your spine your life and not the doctors etc. If you know something is seriously wrong kick up hell and get properly checked over. Do not delay or be fobbed off.

What questions would you suggest I ask him.

It depends really what your own individual problem is. I'd at least be looking at an MRI scan. Did one in July on myself and issues on my upper spine wasn't noticed and it was only my second MRI the other day that it was picked up with a specialist who was on the ball and noticed. He wasn't too happy it was previously overlooked in July and is going to have words with the person who assessed the first MRI. As it's 6 months past now it's not looking too good for my back/spine. Maybe if it was picked up then it would have been different.

The disc us the cushion between each vertebral pair ..the outside fibrous tissue that holdscthe gel like substance inside has ruptured
Look for an esteemed university with a medical school with a university hospital and clinic

Hi. Yes I know but that is not my main problem. I have had a severe lumbar shift way back in June. As I kept getting told it was my disc(which it is) with a little scoliosis MRI my back angles quite bad. Told this is inoperable. Feel though if I'd been taken seriously at the beginning instead of fobbed off it may have had a far better outcome.

Thanks. What I'm really trying to say is do not just accept a diagnosis if something you know is far more worse than they say. After all doctors etc do get it wrong at times. I was told since July just minor scoliosis as your disc is slipped etc. Turns out this scoliosis is nothing like that. Told a few days ago it will be 99 percent inoperable so be left with it Maybe it would have made a big difference the correct diagnosis at the beginning. If it's bad damage you have time and correct diagnosis at the beginning can be the difference between a full recovery or not. Ps the disc is operable. Rest of my spine is not now. Worth the second and third opinion if you know something seriously wrong. Wish I did at the beginning

Well for me I'm getting the disc took out as it's pressing on the nerves. As I say I don't know if that would be your solution? That's the route I've to go and can't wait. Sooner the better. 👍

Hi. No probz at all. I experienced 5 months of the constant 24/7 pain and agony. Like continuous torture so I know where your coming from. I've had a ton of tightness and pain on my outer hip knee and ankle which feels like guitar strings it's so tight so I know what you mean.

own, do not do an open machine, as they are not as good as a closed one. And if
possible go for one with contrast dye which is even better.
