PHN facial swelling

I had shingles in October 2016 followed by unbelievable facial pain in my left jaw.  Doctor put me on Gabapentin which does precious little for the pain and goofs on my brain.  After about 3 weeks of it, it finally faded.  I lost serious weight not being able to eat!

2 weeks later, it's come back with swelling just to the left of my chin and a new sensation of muscle soreness and stiffness.  Not as much pain this time, but a noticeable discomfort.  The swelling is what concerns me.  Anyone else have this symptom?

Your facial nerve gor affected from shingles virus with after effects. Have you had the shingles vaccine?

Yes, but I got it late; a shot after I already had a shingles outbreak.  I should have gotten it before!  Swelling is down now and very little discomfort; all I can hope for is a complete remission.  Thanks for writing.
