What was the colonoscopy result ?? I think the colonoscopy will give the definite diagnosis. You can not jump into cancer ,since there is a lot of bowel diseases associated with rectal bleeding .although your latest symptoms are quite suspicious. Do not ignore your condition and take immediate action by asking for advice from consultant or specialist.

    Hi danielle,

Can't understand why you haven't done something about it before. The earlier it is treated the easier to cure. Wish I had. I've finished a course of chemo, had a CT and now I go to Oncologist mext Tues. for the result. Bowel cancer will spread to liver and lung if not cought earlier enough and is advanced.

I think with any symptoms of bleeding first tests should be colonoscopy to rule out the worst or catch it in time. Wasting time with ibs and others is allowing the possible cancer to grow.

Don't want to frighten you buty it's true.

Take care and good luck. You know someone said our body tells us there is something wrong.

    Hello Danielle,

Went to see Oncologist yest. Not that good but could be worse.

It hasn't spread, so liver and lungs are safe for now. Chemo did some good but not enough, they say to op now. Want to give MRI to verify recent CT. then in 4 wks chemoradiotherapy for 5 wks. Then...........have to wait 6 mos. for poss. surgery. Probably back again by then making surgery not available again. My age you know, 70. I'll die. Wonder how long I've got.

So, if you are young, take advantage of it and catch it quick.

    Take care, Daffs

Hi again, Well, went to hosp. with a friend who had a colonoscopy. Her symptoms were not nearly as bad as mine. But better to catch it quick, as I forced on her. She didn't fancy the colonos. Outcome was good. No cancer, diverticulitus.

I saw my Spec. Nurse while waiting for her and she said my MRI is sched. for 1/4/14. Too long I said, should be on chemoradio. then. Appnt with Onco. end next wk. and need MRI resultr before that. She said she wld see what she could do.

Well when got home and found the appnt in mail for Apt. 1st. I went into depr. thinking so many delays. I called the hosp. this am. to confirm date and they told me it had bee3n changed to 12/3 and she said by your Consult. because you are going to have op.!! Well, I'm very happy MRI brought forward. But can't believe op so soon, shocked, a bit frightened too. Thinking perhaps she may have said that to get me earlier MRI appnt.

So, how are you? Changed your mind about you having the coloscopy, yet?

Hope you are feeling better like me. Nice to see sunshine today.

    Take care, Daffs.
