I don't feel that my prostate is enlarged as I feel no pain there. I had 2 TERPS in the past and healing was OK and it definately help with me going to the bathroom. I had this done when I was about 45 years old. Over the many years everything was fine. I am now 76 years old and I do expect to have some problems. But this a little different. Due to several conditions I have and the meds I take, has caused me ED. Within the last 5 years it has gotten far worse where I cant even get an erection and definately no gratification. Within the last few months, my urinary stream has decreased significantally. I would go to the bathroom and when I try to pee, it barely comes out and stops and goes and so on. I even peed in bed which is plain crap. My wife sleeping with me is not too happy about it but concerned. To top that off, on the left and right side of my scrotum near the middle is painful when I touch it. My GP ordered a ultrasound and the finding is 2 cysts. When I move or walk it doesn't hurt only when pressure is put on it. My doctor said he will watch it to see what will happen in the near future. He recommended I see a urologist for further investigation. Like many urologists, the first thing that comes out of their mouth is a TERP has to be done. I don't want to go through that again and whether you have to be hospitalized for 3 days as before, I don't know. Maybe now it can be done as an outpatient. Although the surgery itself was not hard on me and recovered rather quickly with little pain, it worked for that amount of time. Actually I had 2 TERPS within 3 years. Maybe the first time it wasn't done right. I understand there is a different procedure which is less invasive and successful and much less costly. Do you or anyone know about this? It also seems that doctors think it is an infection and put you on antibiotics. Usually you can't stay on it long term anyway. The pain you get when having orgasm is something to check out and if you have to get another doctors opinion, I would do so. Sometime a third opinion is needed. I hope you will get this thing corrected and wish lots of luck and get back to sex. Take care of yourself and let me know what is found out.
My best to you
mel
