anne pleaase go back to your GP because these sound like serious side effects. I personally would expect the dr to discontinue this drug. You can also report it to the MHRA.

i  have an appointment with the orl, i ll tell him i think he will understand , i am really angry on doctors since one year you know; the problem is i do not have another medecine to substitute i have to wait at least one month for a new psychiatrist i hope he will understand; thank you for your concern

anne what do you mean by ORL?  Please do not wait for another month. You must have a primary care dr who can pass on the adverse reaction to the psych. AL6ernatively get the confidence to approach the secretary to the Psychiatrist. Eitther way you cannot run the risk of continuing to take this drug when there is a distinct possibility that it is harming you. I have epilepsy and have been badly affected by medicattion including lamictal. There are other drugs that can help you. xx

      Anne Did he indeed.

Have you the means to see another GP or to change surgery.

Can you advise your pharmacist of these signs and symptoms straightaway and seek advice. Then you can quote him or her. I would seek the advice of another dr .I would not tolerate any insults from anyone. You can report this online as an adverse reaction if you think it is . MHRA. Yellow card system.

thank you for your answer, i think like you, i have seen and told aven the pharmacists , everyone, they just told me maybe it is this we dont know, i cannot tolerate this also and when i am telling them at the end i am angry , no one take the decision, it is incredible!!!!!!!!!!! even my mother and sister are shocked at the doctor, the psychiatrists which do not believe this, yesterday, a nurse came i told her and the same, she just say no one complain about this medecine! i really want to shout at them ; being angry is also making me more depressed you know , i have to be patient and have confidence in another psychiatrist, time is long

Anne You mentioned the ORL telling you to stop taking this drug. Did the ORL wrte to your dr or psych about this? I cannot understand why with such serious side effects you are still taking this drug at all. I would advise the drs that you are unable to take it. The nurse is bound to side with the drs. Of course people have complained about the side effects how does the nurse think that the drugs companies gather information unless it is by listing the sidee fefcts reoortted to them. Please take or post a copy of the Patient Information Leaflet listing the side effects to the drs and nurse concerned. Are u in the USA?

Anne, i have been on lamictal for about two years and never had these side effects your describing. Like the others mentioned, I would dart over to your doctor and demand a second opinion.

Anne Good that your dr recognised the side effects.

My neurologist stopped the drug I was on that was causing the same signs and symptoms.

As you probably know drugs affect or cn affecct people differently. There is a genetic test to check a persons likelihood of developing side effects.

I am unsure if it available in France but it probably is.

      Hello Anne

I am genuinely sorry to hear this. The withdrawal is hard but you are doing so well.  It may possibly be due to the other drugs that you are tapering that is causing you to feelso low. It takes time to taper as you probably already know but you sound a strong person.  Hang on in there. You are going to be okay.

      We are here for you.

      Take care

feel so low. Been there done it worn the t shirt.........

      Keep strong.

Anne Please hang on in there. Try not to give in. It will pass. It is just your mind playing tricks with your body making you want this drug.

I went through this with prescribed co codamaol and they say that codeine is the most horrendous drug to come off.

If I can gte through the withdrawal anyone can.

Samaritans number if you wish to talk this through is 1161234. Please hang on in there. Each day will see a slight improvement, honestly. My friend felt like this coming off prozac. Now he is fine , honestly.

      Hello Anne

I understand . This is an awful illness. You are going to be alrightt. Please keep telling yourself that. Please see your dr asap. A good chat can often be very uplifting. This is never an easy time of year. It just does not help a lot of people. You are strong, it is hard all this but you are a survivor.

What did you do yesterday> Hope you do not mind my asking.

      Take care.
