Retina occlusions both eyes (hubby)

Hubby has CVRO in right eye so virtually no central vision.  For many years, he has been receiving injections for the VRO in right eye.  We are on the third eye med injection RX and it has quit working, inflammation was much worse for the Sept visit.  The latest switch was to Eyelea (3 so far) and we will have consultation to determine whether we should go back to Lucentis.  His glaucoma was at 9/11 this last visit to opthamologist and near that at retina specialist.  Wondering if there are others out there taking any kind of supplements such as Vitamin C or/and Fish (Krill) oil to maintain glaucoma levels.  Just seems there should be a way for that blamed inflammation to dissipate but it is trapped it seems.  Stay hopeful for hubby but he is pretty much virtually blind at this juncture.

My husband has MD and has just had his 3 eylea injections. I have 'Bests' disease, which is a macular condition. We both take Viteyes. It has all the vitamins recommended by the proffessional. This is the product advertised and recomended in the Mucular societys quaterly newsletter. This publication is so informative and has the up to date info on all eye conditions. The stats are so much better for the eyelea product than for Lucentis. I think the consultant told us, it was twice as succesful, and even worked on those whom Lucentis had failed on. Also spinach and Kale are listed in the last newsletter.. We already used spinach , I buy it frozen and put a 'lump' in any veg or casserole I do. Kale has just turned up in a drink on the shelves in Waitrose. It does have a strange taste, but I have grown to like it, and anyway, if it helps, I will drink it, and do every day. Hope this helps, and do start taking the Viteyes.

Happy to hear Eyelea is working for you...Avastin worked for many months as did Lucentis; however, after 3 injections of Eylea all is backing up in the edema area so probably will have to switch again next week.  Ralph was on Viteyes for years, now takes 1500 mg Vit C daily and krill oil, supposed to keep glaucoma eye pressure down.. We eat well and I make a lot of smoothies with kale.  Thanks for the reply..

I did buy hubby the VitEyes with AREDS 2, he took for years but eyesight was not truly getting better.  There are so many pros and cons.  He has his first steroid implant in the right eye (we call the good eye) as he has CVRO in left eye.  A week ago after consult with RS, we went back to Lucentis from Eyelea, Doc explained that sometimes it works well (any RX) in the beginning then downhill.  One can only hope.  We have NutriNinja as well as juicer so we make a lot of green /nutritional drinks so that part is no problem.  Hoping the steroid implant will help decrease his inflammation.  There is always hope.

CVRO is actually in left eye, I misspoke. Anyhow, hubby had first Ozurdex steroid implant in right eye Oct 27th so we are hopeful. Also continuing with Lucentis injections since Eyelea wasn't working at all.
