I´ve for the last two years been suffering with thick mucus dripping from my nose back my throat. That´s made a havoc in my life! For the last six months I´ve had abdominal pain, mainly on the right side, almost constantly!

Does anyone hvae a clue or know of an y connection between liver funcionality and post nasal drip?

Hi Sam then I'm presuming you have had no tests, not seen any specialists and your GP has not referred you any where, are you UK?

Have you thought it could be a simple thing like erm hate to say it but a couple of things, are you drinking enough water, this will thin it down, do you blow your nose enough, do you smoke, drink, also it could be because its dripping into your stomach it could be causing to much acid.

      How old are u

I would guess GORD Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disease for the PND

I wouldn't have thought that there was any connection with your liver.

Have you tried a proton pump inhibitor, like Omeprazole?  It reduces the level of acid in the stomach.

Hi, I  also thought my complaints were due to Gerd/lpr. Have done gastroscopy, 24hours ph monitoring, tried different PIPs and so one!

      Thanks!

I have to take various drugs & had PND but didn't connect it to GORD.  The ENT guy told me to cut all sorts of food out of my diet, for example tomatoes, coffee, chocolate & other things, that I forget.

I have to take a ppi & Gaviscon Advance at night.  It has certainly cured the pnd.

I don't know what else to suggest to you, unless you do drink a lot of coffee for example.  I drank only water for about 12 months.  I now drink one coffee in the morning & one cup of tea.

Hi Sam, I've had pain in my right side for about 10 years. Plus various other symptoms. Before that I was in perfect health. I've also had sinus problems. I've some how developed rhinitis. I thought it was quite odd to suddenly have allergic rhinitis at 38 years old. For years I thought it was all liver related. I've had LFT's, ultra sound, MRI, fibro scan, endoscopy (with internal ultra sound) plus many more tests. All came out normal. It lead me to believe I've been barking up the wrong tree. Possibly kidney or gut related. I still have no answers to this day, but through trial and error I know there are some things I can do which manage the symptoms.

Plenty of exercise (work up a sweat to get rid of toxins on a daily basis). Avoid food with high salt content, cut down on meat, cut down on caffeine, try to eat natural organic foods and cut down on processed foods. Many of this may seem obvious. For me, as soon as I deviate my symptoms get worse. It's the only way i can manage. Might be worth a try.

when i eat lots of meat, high salt content, the pain in my side gets worse, my hands begin to itch like crazy. My sinuses are pretty much unchanged. When the rhinitis came I pretty much lost my sense of smell.

    Hope this helps. Good luck
