Robot Assisted Myomectomy scheduled for my 8cm fibroid

Hi all,

I just wanted to post a short update. I had my surgical consult yesterday and I'm scheduled for my surgery in 3 weeks. We decided to go the way of "Robot assisted myomectomy"  Its supposed to be minimally invasive- but as far as I'm concerned... all surgery is invasive.

A while back, someone on here posted to me this amazing list of tips for aftercare, and I cannot find the post cry

Can anyone who's had a myomectomy offer any aftercare advice?  I'm going to elevate my bed (currently it is only a box-spring and mattress, as I like it low... but I've been told that its going to hurt like heck trying to stand up from a low bed!)  and I'm going to buy a "husband pillow" which I never even heard of until going through this!!  I guess I'm really looking for a "MUST BUY"  list ... because I'm going crazy nesting for this procedure. I'm going to be alone most of the time after the surgery, so I'm trying to set myself up to be able to be somewhat independant. It is NOT a pride thing, but it's because my husband will only be able to stay with me for the first few days.  He cannot take leave from work for too long.

I keep looking back into my old posts hoping to find that response... it was so helpful! Maybe I will find it and I'll bump it if I do, because it was all really good advice!

Hi,  there are good responses in a post titled  'Next Week!!' .. type it in the search box and it should appear in the forums listing. I think its about recovery from hysterectomy but a lot of it will be relevent.

    Good Luck, take care
