ruptured ovarian cyst????

I was told I had a 2.7cm cyst on right ovary was told it had has hard particles not sure what this means....anyway I've been bleeding since Jan 1st stopped for a total of 2 weeks about 4 weeks ago since I've had like brownish coloured blood not heavy until today I had a severe sharp pain on my right side earlier and bled quite heavily after it was bright red now the bleeding calmed down now but I now have a dull constant pain on my right side unsure of what's happened!? I was told last year I had a cyst they were concerned about but was told 3 weeks later it had dissapears until March when I was told the cyst is in fact still there and it's grew have gynecologist on 4th June I am 27 can anyone help in regards to if maybe my cyst has twisted or ruptured with this pain? Thanks

    It's very difficult to say but if the pain persists I'd advice for you to get to a&e as soon as you can. Did you have any other pains when this first started? I just wanted to know really because of my own symptoms. I have contact pulling feeling In my ovaries, headaches, it hurts under my arm pit,and tenderness in my private area which is worrying. Oh discharge and pink blood. Did you have any or have any if this?

    I see my specialist on the 18th of June. I hope you get your own symptoms and health issues sorted I know myself how worrying and horrible it Is. I would sat that is a cyst had ruptured you'd probably be in agonising pain, how bad would you say the pain is? How did you get diagnosed if you don't mind me asking?

      It's not bad now but when I get the sharp pain it's unbearable! I've had problems since having my daughter in 2011 first I had pre cancerous cells removed from my cervix then I was told I had polycyclic ovaries but the cyst was discovered last year in June the whole of April I was basically unable to leave the house for more than half an hour because my bleeding was so heavy with huge clots so was sent for a scan which showed a cyst that my doctor told me concerned them I was told a few weeks later that there no cyst but in fact they had someone else's results so now I'm worrying as the cyst has grown now not by much but still grown! I had severe pain a while ago in bed the whole night I was in agony with this sharp sudden pain! My doctor was supposed to refer me the day after he told me the cyst was still there and forgot so I ended up having to phone myself I was due to have a 6 month check up in January which I didn't get! Hate the nhs sometimes lol but really though sex is very painful and I bleed after too just want this all sorted this constant pain and bleeding is draining and at 27 with 2 kids aged 5 and 3 to look after it does take its toll I'm always tired and crabby not nice at all 😦

      So having a smear it came up straight away? I have no idea what I'm suffering with but it's draining me. How do you feel today?

      Bless you you've really been through it. I would complain to you hospital about the poor quality of treatment. You need this sorting. If it gets any worse I suggest you get yourself to a&e. Do you get headaches??

    Particles sounds like its a dermoid cyst but they are with you from birth so it certainly cant disappear and then come back like a simple cyst, unless they just missed it the second scan which wouldnt surprise me in the slightest, but why the hell have they not explained this to you?! Cysts come and go a lot but not dermoid - they are basically a undeveloped twin you carry from birth. These people just expect us to know thee things but a have only found out through research as I am waiting for an op myself, (hopefully thisweek as I have been on an emergency list for 4 weeks pending investigations into a neck injury which have finally come back). I am having the cysts, ovary, tube and endimetriosis removed and adhesions separated. Cant wait as i have been in so much pain now for ages but last two months I have gone to a and e twice in agony, sent too much timein bed too, which is really annoying me as I had not long returned to work after being off sick for 18 months and stuck in bed with rheumatoid arthritis - was just starting to enjoy life a little! Lol ah well these things are sent to try us.

    anyway back to you! Tut tut i do get carried away! I would suggest you visit your gp as they should have details, however I am surprised you have not been booked in for a laparoscopy already?! What are they waiting for exactly?! Surely, ultimately that is what they will have to do, so why the wait, making you more anxious ad delaying the inevitable?! I just don't get their actions at times Sharon, down to money perhaps? Well a dermoid cyst does not burst like most simple cysts, it cant - there are bits of hair and teeth in it - sorry if that alarms you - but they are very common apparently, sodon't worry, but do insist they investigate further! It is your body for goodness sake,not theirs! I just wish they would realise how awful it is for us going through it!

    I've been in a bit of pain today but it seems to be dull pain on right and sharo pain on left? I've also had sharp pains around my eyes and fluttering on right side beside ivary I'm not pregnant so I know it's not that any ideas on why I'm feeling sharo on left and dull on right? Bearing in mind my cyst is on right side thanks

      I asked the same question when I was admitted. I don't recall receiving a proper answer to be honest! My cysts are on the right too but I get pain on left, almost with the same severity. Mine actually started in my bellybutton so at first they thought appendix but scan revealed the cysts. Last scan showed they had doubled in size since first scan so god knows what they're like now. i am tired and nauseous i cant eat big amounts and feel really bloated. My belly has swollen dramatically and I look pregnant! Just cant wait to get rid of everything! I am almost 48 and have two grown up children so dont care if they take everything - oh to be pain free again! I went really light headed and almost threw up on Friday, the sweat started pouring down my head too, then when I stood up I had an awful tearing pain right at the bottom of my abdomen. Been scared to move since! Spent yesterday in bed the whole day, but have just been out for a walk with the dog and although the pain has become worse its not too bad, manageable with tramadol and cocodamol. I only walked a little though, soent a lot of time sitting on a bench watching the sea in the sun, was really lovely to be out. I should be going in this week hopefully, but you really should present at a&e if its so bad, I almost did on Friday but mine settled again. If its not settling, please go and tell them you are not leaving till you see a gynae! I did that last time and that was the only way to get to see one!

      You mention you look pregnant when I stand up I look like I'm fit to give birth but when I lie down it dissapears? I would love to just get everything taken out even though I'm only 27 I've got 2 kids aged 5 and 3 boy and girl don't want any more after suffering severe post natal depression after both I couldn't put my family or myself through that again but they probably wouldn't do it! Just annoyed with being in pain and bleeding all the time can't take my kids swimming as I can't use tampons have to take tablets to stop it if I'm going on holiday or have a special occasion etc it's just a nightmare!

      They will do it if you keep having problems and you are certain you dont want any more kids. When I was in there was a woman in her late 20's - no children although she would have liked them. She had a full hysterectomy due to really bad endimetriosis. It was her choice but they offered her the choice. Really you need proper investigations first though. My kids are now 21 and 18, boy and girl and I have had problems since I had my son! He was born by emergency c section and when I had my daughter I had dreadful infections for years after. First i lost her twin early on in the pregnancy so I had infection from that, cos obviously they could not do a d and c. Then I had a third degree tear, should have had elective c section but they kept telling me I didnt need to. When the head would not engage they told me it was too late I had to push her out! I tore from back to front! Took 3 and half hours to stitch me up, lost mega amounts of blood it was horrendous. They didnt give me a transfusion till 3 days later. I was pure white and could not stand up! Also cos of losing so much blood i couldnt produce milk so couldnt breast feed which really upset me! God who could go through that again?! Lol anyway infection after infection went on for years, then kept getting cystitis and have never really been the same but I have gone off on a tangent again.......so, yes you should insist if that is what you really want! Keep on at them! It is your body and they will give in! X

    Yesterday morning I had Intercourse which was painful, and after I had excruciating pain in abdomen, pelvic area, and rectal pressure. I literally felt like I was dying, cold sweats, dizziness, nausea, and it hurt to move. I went to the ER, they gave me a pelvic exam and stopped almost instantly because of how painful it was for me. After he gave me morphine and did an ultrasound, and CT scan as well as a urine sample, they thought for sure I had a ruptured cyst, but all the testing came back completely normal, they also did another pelvic exam to double check, my mirena looked fine along with everything else, they let me know I did have an ovarian cyst but no signs of a rupture, and sent me home. I know for a fact that the pain I was in wasn't just "menstrual cramps" as they say, but I'm not sure what it was I'm so confused!

      Did you ever receive an answer? I feel exactly the same way. I didnt go to the ER. I called my doctor after the pain passed and said it was a ruptured cyst. I feel TERRIBLE and its been a few days. I think I am going to try and see the doctor now. I just want the pain in sex, cramps and all go away. I also have the mirena
