Self harm

Hi everyone, I'm 16 and I used to self harm a lot, the problem is that I have scars on my arm and legs, I do beauty therapy at college and we are starting waxing, which means I have to get my legs out and I don't want people seeing my scars, even though they know about my self harming because of the scars on my arm, does anyone know any home remedies for scars? I'm not ashamed of them, I just don't want them there anymore, they also remind me of everything I went through and I don't want them there anymore, Thankyou x

I suggest you browse in a large chemist's shop, or ask the pharmacist if you feel you can. I know I've seen products that you rub into the skin to reduce the appearance of scars, but I can't remember any actual names at the moment.

First of all, I do understand, it's a problem that I am getting help for in February.  When I had an appointment at the hospital, a couple of doctors have sworn by Bio Oil and E45, these should help the scars to fade if used regularly.  I have bought a cheaper version, Palmers cocoa butter formula - skin therapy, which claims to do the same thing.  I have heard a lot of good things about Bio Oil.  Being as you are still in education, it might be worth speaking to your GP to prescribe it because it is expensive.  Good luck.

Maybe speak privately to one of the tutors at the college who you trust. I am sure that you are not the only girl who has had this problem.

Butter body cream. My mom started making me use it for my arms and it works. If you have a darker skin colour it will take a little longer.
