Septal perforation and lupus?

Hello

I am after some advice. I have suffered with my sinuses for years and over a year ago I started with sores, scabs and bleeding in my nose. Its constant everyday. I have a tree allergy but usually that is worse in autumn!?

So yesterday I blew my nose and a scab came off. I then started making a whistle noise when I breathed in. I shone a light up my nostril and found a tiny hole in my cartridge . Utterly shocked I got an appointment with my GP today who has referred me to ENT urgently. They are so busy that my appointment is 3 weeks away even though it's classed as urgent!

She asked about my general health etc. From googling it lupus came up. This is something I have looked into a year or two back as I suffer with fatigue, hair loss, low iron, low b12, bruising, mouth and tongue sores. I haven't ever had a rash. I just wondered if anyone had experienced nasal sores? My latest bloods showed low rbc but my iron was fine and my b12 was very high for me! I'm totally freaking out about the tiny hole. I don't want it to get any bigger.

I would like to add I have NEVER taken any drugs in my life. I'm 34 year old female.

Hi there. I also have lupus, and have been suffering much the same as you describe, but no hole, thank goodness. My gp said I had a viral infection and this did in fact show in my bloods. She gave me nasal cream and it has helped a bit. I know what your going through. A few years ago whilst having dental work done, my sinus was pierced...that whistling made me really panic. I had to go in and have a op to get it repaired. Took quite a long time to heal, but then everything does when you have lupus. I really do feel for you and hope that it gets sorted sooner rather than later.😊

Thank you for the reply. I have tried creams in the past but have not worked. Its very frustrating as I feel this could of been prevented. For years I've felt unwell. I put it down to my iron always going low and my b12. My appointment seems so long away. Do you suffer occasionally with the nasal sores?

Hi there. Yes I do. Like you I was ill for years before being diagnosed with Lupus & CTD. Now have Rheumatologist, Pain Consultant, Joint specialists etc etc. I do have good gp's that always do referrals, but yes unfortunately with the nhs like it is, they take forever. I had scans done on my foot last December and got to see the specialist a week ago. Only to be told that the foot problem is so complex, that I have to have 2 more scans, injections into the foot and go back in 3 months!

Have you tried Bicarbonate of soda diluted in some water for the sores? My Rheumy advised me to do this, also to take high dose of vit c every day. Definitely worked for meπŸ˜‰

Oh gosh poor you. I get painful joints in cold weather but it is random. Sometimes I don't have any pain then other times my wrists and ankles really hurt.

No I've not tried that. Will certainly give it a go. Will try anything.

I have suffered for years with my sinuses. The ENT said it was migraine related but it really isn't. Its a totally different headache. Its more the pressure in my nose and dizziness. Just hope I can get an earlier appointment. Do you get mouth sores too? Mine are mainly on my tongue

Hi, I too get those sores in my nose that scab, then it comes off and I have to start all over again trying to heal it. My doc gave me some antibiotic ointment and it goes away. Right now I have sores on my tongue and it hurts to eat. I also get very deep cracks in the corners of my lips. Very painful. I have problems with my feet as well. Last year i had surgery on both of them to remove bone spurs. Good times alright. My heart goes out to you.

      Oh no that's awful.

I get tongue sores. My tongue is covered in red sores now and it's so painful. I've been getting this for years and put it down to my vitamin deficiencies.

I'm not sure what is going on with me but I've been feeling rubbish for years and I'm really hoping to get some answers.

What symptoms did you have when diagnosed
