Welcome to this wonderful forum.
I'm afraid what you're going through is all part and parcel of the recovery after a hip replacement. Nerves have been cut, stretched and moved around and your pains sound very much like nerves recovering from the trauma of what is a huge operation.
You will hear all the time that sleeping is a problem during the first few weeks and you are in the painful period of recovery. It will settle down.
My only suggestions are to take painkillers before bed and duting the night if required. Try putting pillows under your knees, ankles or anywhere that makes you more comfortable. Get up and have a little walk around, this might help and just accept the fact that sleep is going to be difficult for a while.
We have all been there and can empathise. Another week should see things getting a bit better for you.

Its horrid this isnt it....i found it started the nerves around late afternoon and went on for ages.
I used a facecloth soak in very cold water and rung out. Then place up and down affected areas intermittently as it seemed to ease the nerves.
Also used ice pack but that wasnt tolerable for long.
Gp also prescribed me gabapentin which i still use along with paracetamol and or codeine as necessary.
Im day 18 today and still only getting 4hrs straight at night then up m down like a yoyo 😣

Sleeping has got to be one of the hardest parts to get past. Think everyone struggles with it, I have got used to sleeping on my back now, but I need a pillow under my claves to keep my heels off the bed,(pressure sores) also helps the tailbone pressure too.
I don't get twitching and shooting pains but I do have spasms. I'm 10 weeks.

Chin up I have been told it can only get better! If we knew what was going to happen guess we wouldn't have it done.
