Slightly worried

Ok so I wasn't sure whether to post this or not as I don't want people to think I'm preaching.

I've been reading all of the recent discussions and I think some people need to stop giving their opinions as facts. All we can do is share our experiences and give gentle advice. I've read a few comments here today that seem a bit O.T.T and silly. Too many you can't do this and you should be doing that comments. These forums are for support, please ask your Doctor if you have any questions because even though we're all on the same tablets, we all have different bodies, some have existing health conditions and we all have different amounts to lose.

Again, this wasn't intended to sound in any way preachy and I apologise if it does, I'm just worried that people are going to take misinformation or opinion as fact and end up making themselves sick. I am by no means claiming to be an expert, I've only been on the tablets for four weeks but I just think people should think before posting.

I do agree with what you've said Grace...although I also have to say I like to talk to people who have first hand experience of the tablets so they can share their experiences. My Dr can give me the science behind it all but I find talking to people in the same position as me really gives me support (whilst taking everyone is different into account).

As I said I do agree with you when it comes to people stating that they have the facts rather than an opinion....

That's exactly how I feel Leigh, I love being able to come here and find out how others are getting on and asking questions etc.. It's such a good help knowing others are on the same journey. But I've seen people saying don't take a tablet with this meal, don't eat that etc.. and I really think if your doctor has said take 3 a day with each meal that's what you do!!

I agree wink I work in a school and it's a specialist behavioural school so it can be pretty full on at times therefore, it's not always easy for me to take a tablet at lunch. A. Because I don't have time to eat or B. I'm so paranoid I may eat and then will need to run to the loo!! I'm hoping that I'm not ruining it all by only taking two tablets on some days sad

OMG if thats how I have come across at any time I wholeheartedly apologise to all as that would never be intentional. I'd like to think that the only time I sound a bit 'these are the rules' are with the rules we are advised to follow but I hope its also come across that I know we are all different & we have to find what works for us as individuals

Oh my god Cath not at all!! I'm so sorry you thought that. You know how wonderful I've found your support. Never any judgement and always sound advice from someone with experience of taking xenical. It's not about one individual, it's a good few posts I've noticed over the past little while!!

And Leigh I know I've had a few days where I've missed my third tablet, sometimes it's just not possible. I'm still losing so definitely don't worry about it!!

Basically all I wanted to say was that I think people do need to follow what their doctors have told them to do, they're the medical experts!! Obviously there's some things that can only be learned by taking the tablets but I'd just hate to see people deviating from doctors orders because of something they've read here!!

I totally agree with you. I think a problem is that our dr's don't give enough advice so we're all left floundering. When I first started taking them there was no activity on this forum so I had to Google everything which I hardly mind cos at the end of the day I'm the 1 taking the meds so it's my responsibility to find out as much as I can. The tips we can pass on to each other through here are also invaluable & I'm so thrilled there's so many of us on here now but you're right that no-one should be preaching.

I love seeing how we are all getting on & the support we provide for each other - Grace I truly think of you as my friend :-) xx

I don't preach anything because I've only been on orlistat a month, and with very little knowledge off the doctor I look to this site for help and support, all I go by is what I'm experiencing and is this normal?
