Sometimes I think reading too much on line is not the best thing to do. I think you should go for a second opioion. Have your gastro doc send your records to another doc. Getting a second opinion will just possibly set your mind at ease.

Mummyt2, I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles but try not to stress because stressing can cause you more pain. You could have chronic pancreatitis. Have you looked up the symptoms of pancreatic cancer? I myself don't have cancer but I have atrophy of the pancreas which means degeneration of my pancreas (I'm waiting to see the GI specialist to find out why because I don't drink and I don't eat fatty foods and according to the Internet that's usually the cause). You can't always trust everything you read on the Internet. You're esophagitis is referred to as GERD (acid reflux) which is very common with chronic pancreatitis. The gallbladder can also contribute pain and usually if there's polyps they are begnin but they should be doing a biopsy to make sure. I had my gallbladder removed a long time ago because I had gallstones laying on my pancreas. You can have elevated blood levels if you're having a pancreatitis attack. I have never been diagnosed with acute or chronic pancreatitis and all my blood work for pancreatitis has come back normal however I looked up my blood work from a couple years ago and my liver enzymes were double what they should have been. I have a nerve disease and herniations in my back therefore the doctors never checked as to why my liver enzymes were elevated. My nerve disease wouldn't have affected my blood work but it makes sense now that with the horrible back pain I had, I could have been having a pancreatitis attack. I now am suffering abdominal pain, back pain, fatigue and have lost a lot of weight. I kept telling my doctor I knew something was wrong but they always want to blame it on my nerve disease. You have to be your own advocate. Ask for a biopsy and ask them to check you for pancreatitis. Chronic pancreatitis can give you pain for weeks or even months … I don't know how much research you have done but research chronic pancreatitis. Does it hurt after you eat? This is one of the biggest symptoms of pancreatitis and if it hurts after you eat then I suggest you drink Ensure for a couple days and that will help subside your pain. A liquid diet for a couple days is what they do in the hospital and make sure you're drinking water. Does it hurt more at night? Do you get bloated a couple hours after you eat? Did they do a complete blood panel? I think blood work would show signs of cancer, however I am not certain. I know my dad has cancer and his blood work shows it but every cancer is different and he doesn't have pancreas cancer. I wish you the best of luck sweetie.

Hi the gallbladder polyps was only small and they only remove if over they are bigger and I thought chronic pancreatis was really painful mine is just a constant ache I feel bloated and sometimes have a little pain after I've eaten but mostly I'm ok after food and it's not worse at night. I'm really sorry to hear you have atrophy of the pancreas how did you find this out ? I just want to spend time with my kids and enjoy life without this been constantly on my mind I've been to the doctors lots of times and they just say it's anxiety or ibs or poor posture and maybe I do have anxiety and maybe poor posture but anxiety is due to worry it's horrible X

I started having abdominal pain in August 2016. I had an endoscopy, ultrasound and blood work done and all came back normal. I was even screened for pancreatitis and that too came back normal but I read if you have chronic pancreatitis your blood work can come back normal. I have a history of my intestines adhering, therefore I asked my doctor if there's a test to show adhesions. My doctor had me get a CT Enterography with contrast which then revealed the atrophy of my pancreas. Chronic pancreatitis doesn't necessarily mean you're always in pain. Sometimes foods trigger it. From what I have read fatty foods can trigger an attack … I have read that you're supposed to eat a low fat diet and don't drink alcohol because that too can cause pain. I have many medical conditions and I have had at least one surgery every year since 2002 up to 2016. I know my body and my regular pain very well therefore when something else starts to happen I know it's not normal. It took me 8 months to find out that I had atrophy of my pancreas and now I have to wait until March to find out why. The waiting game is horrible but don't let it stress you out, just be your own advocate. I have had numerous doctors tell me my symptoms were in my head for many years until I had a pain management doctor diagnose my nerve disease (which a lot of doctors aren't even aware of the disease) and now it took me 8 months to find the reason why I've been having so much abdominal pain. It doesn't always hurt after I eat but I don't eat solid foods everyday anymore. I live on two Ensures and try to eat one solid meal a day. On a good day I can handle a solid meal but on a bad day a solid meal consists of soup. Sometimes the pain is bearable and sometimes the pain is debilitating, everyone is different. Chronic pancreatitis just means you'll get an attack here and there but if you don't know you have it then you don't know how to prevent an attack therefore constant pain and stress because you're in pain and you don't know why. I've been diagnosed with IBS but the pain I've been experiencing is not related and the symptoms are not the same. I'm constantly nauseous and get full after just a couple bites. I can feel my intestines moving but I also had surgery because they were adhered together back in 2014. There's a test they can do to look at your pancreas called an ERCP however it can also give you a pancreatitis attack. I haven't had the test, I've only read about it.
