Yes, Dr Chan Yew Meng is diagnosing me. Is he your doctor? How are you now? How long is your MD?

I think it is an spontaneous attack as I was just seating when it happened. I have tried to jerk my head or sudden change in head position few times but no attack of vertigo. Thank you.

I got two episodes last year 2015, Jan - April & July - October. I noticed that the average span is ~ 3 months with intermittent hearing loss, tinnitus and aural fullness then my right ear will back to normal after 3 months. Is it like that?.

I was diagnosed March 2015 in New Zealand. I am taking Vergo (Betahistine Dihydrochloride) which I think is the same medication as you have but I am taking 48mg x 3 times per day with no vertigo or dizziness since April 2015. Still have aural fullness and tinnitus. My Ear Nose Throat specialist said i could go to 64mg x 3 times daily but by increasing the daily amount by 16mg(1 pill)each week till my symptoms stopped I got to my current total.

When I was diagnosed with MD I started taking 16 mg betahistine once a day for a week and increased the dose by 16mg each week till my vertigo and dizziness symptoms stopped. I now take 48mg(3 pills) 3 times per day and have had no vertigo or dizziness symptoms since April 2015. At some stage I would like to reduce my medication and see what happens but when I did have vertigo and dizziness it was not pleasant so I am not rushing into it. I would suggest those on low doses of betahistine talk to their Ear Nose and Throat specialist about increasing their dosage as I was still having vertigo attacks when taking 32mg x 3 times per day. I have had no adverse effects from the betahistine and try to run three times per week as I read this can help. I find it is also good for anxiety as during your run you focus your mind on taking that next breath, not stepping on any dog poo and trying not to keep looking at your watch to see how much time you have to go!! I find the only way I can find time for running is to enter local 10km fun runs which gives me a reason to train.

Thank you for your reply. It's good to hear that your vertigo is under control. I will seek advice from my doctor for increasing the Betahistine dosage. Currebtly, I'm taking 24mg x/day and my last vertigo is last month April.

My attack is episodic for duration of ~ 3 months. Within these 3 months, my right ear has tinnitus, hearing loss on low frequency, distorted or muffled hearing, ear fullness sensation, dizziness and recently Vertigo. My recent episode is March 2016 until now, so far I got only one Vertigo attack. I'm taking Betaserc 24mg x 3 per day. Btw, are you living in SG? How long have you been experiencing this symptoms?
