I never usually post on these forums but i have been worried sick about my sore throat which I have had since the end of February this year. I had Hodgkins Lymphoma 12 years ago and thankfully have been in good health since apart from this throat thing. My doc told me it was in my head too that the worry was making it worse. I've had bloods done (I get them done every year) and they were all perfect (thank god). Ive had swabs of my throat which have come back clear and last week I had a chest xray done (I am waiting on the results). anyway i'm totally freaking out thinking the worst case scenario and I am really upset by my doctors lack of help. Ive been to 5 docs, they all examined me and felt nothing abnormal in my throat area but i just cant understand how a prolonged sore throat is normal??Maybe its something in the air?

Hey Louise, did you ever find anything out here?  I am having the same symptoms and am getting a little concerned.  I don't have insurance and have been to the doctor twice followed by antibiotics both times with little to no effect.

Hope you found relief and could share.

      Thanks,

I went through all these exact symptoms for years, did all the tests, too anibitoics with no help or answers, one day I went to the hospital and had a thyroid checkup, which turned out to be all good, but I was given medication for post nasal drip and after two weeks my symptoms were gone. So for anyone who has not looked into post nasal drip, that might be what symptoms are from

Hello. I am glad I am not alone, I have been having a re-curring Sore Throat for nearly a month. I am going to go to the GP and see if he can do anything. I am on daily Morphine for Chronic pain and even that doesn't take away the discomfort. Are you taking anything to help with the soreness, it is getting progressively worse as I am sat here typing this at 3am and already been up an hour as I can't sleep :-(

I hope you are both feeling a lot better and I quite agree it is not nice.

Have you found your cause? It seems like you have LPR. It is indeed a horrible throat condition.

Hi Nemiren, I have continually had LPR symptoms for years and have always attributed it to my chronic sinus issues. Have you had much luck with being treated for LPR. Many specialist here in Australia are dismissive of the condition. I have tried Gaviscon and Nexium but I haven't had much luck. Thanks in advance.

Hi. Here also in Slovenia, doctors are unaware of this condition. As i read on many forums, nutrition sites, it is the opposite of ppi or gaviscon that we should give a try. So i ordered hcl with pepsin. I hope it will help, i will tell you. This theory suggest we have troubles breaking down food and lack of stomach acid actially.
