Still Waiting!

Hi can anyone help on this?

After a CT scan my husband was informed by this doctor that from the results he suspected that he had Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He was told to phone for an appointment with a respiratory specialist - that was nearly 9 weeks ago and he is still waiting.  I've even phoned to make sure that he is on the list which was confirmed but there was no indication of the waiting time.  Is this normal or is it worth chasing up? Thank you.

Hi pippinscat 9 weeks is a long time. I have into the habit of waiting 2 weeks for any appointment then calling every week to check if an appointment has been made. Mistakes happen and just maybe they get a cancelation which you could fill.

Yes. Always complain, complain, complain.  Time is of the essence in treatment.

A good idea is to say that if you do not get an appointment in a couple of weeks you will ask your MP to raise a user ion in Parliament.  That usually scares civil service people into action.

If he has PF he needs to be on Esbriet as quickly as possible.
