Part of her physio was 10 mins on the exercise bike in the boot as the archilles remains in the same position. She gradly built this up to 40 mins a day by week 4.
Hope this helps.

I didnt have surgery for mine (nearly 10 weeks ago) so was put in the boot from day 2. Boot had 5 wedges and have been taking them out every 2-3 weeks. Physio was arranged at hospital starting about 3 weeks ago with just minor exercising. Saw Consultant a couple of days ago who said he was happy with my 'progress' and to stick with the physio. However I feel that just once a week will be slow progress and I need to get back to work. Consultant reckons I should be back in about 10 weeks. Have actually booked 2 weeks of physio via facilities from my previous career job (fire brigade) in June so hopefully that will speed up the process.
From discussion with other people it sees availability and standard of physio is very much a lottery but at the same time you shouldn't just wait for them. If you feel strong enough to be doing something then my suggestion is to pester them (politely of course) otherwise you could be waiting a long time. I wasn't given any suggestions early on but did a few minor foot exercises after researching the internet.
Hope this also helps and good luck and stay positive. I have felt down several times but when you look around the world at what's going on at the moment we have to realise how lucky we are.
All the best
Chris
