Synacthen Test

I'm having this test on Tues. I have a reaction to adrenaline

in dental anesthetics. Could this be a problem?

It would be best to call your doctor and ask.

Hi I have a reaction to adrenaline at the dentist  but had no reaction when I had the Synacthen test done in June for a mass in my adrenal gland. The Dr now think it could be a Pheochromocytoma. But best to ask your Dr/ dentist to make sure.

Thanks Merryl, it's quite reassuring to know that you had no

problems with the test, but I will check it out with the hospital.

Cloch I had problems with the freezing at the dentist as well.  The dentist should know this.  There is an alternative freezing for patients with thyroid and adrenal gland problems.

Sorry hanny, I probably wasn't clear enough. I do have the

alternative injection at the dentist, I'm just very nervous

where injections are involved in case adrenaline is

involved so I always check first. I just wondered if anyone

could give me a heads up on this test. Thanks.
