Hello... Ive about had it.. fooling around with this disease for years.. tons of misdiagnoses... I'm 52 now.. very sick.. after many surgeries that were supposed to cure me.. the root cause it ends up.. is hyperaldosterone. I have had my thyroid taken out.. cancer... parathyroids .. one left.. two surgeries for that.. spinal fusion.. endless biospies of pancreas. and bp out of control since the age of 38.. they refused to answer me what the root was the.. I know have heart disease and diabetes from this... My labs are high for the aldosterone.. and have been for 2 yrs that they KNOW off.. spirolactone isnt working anymore.  it did for the last year.. before that I was on 4 bp meds since 38.. this is insane... I have horrendous bone pain... foot pain.. and after I eat.. my body goes bizerk.. I dont have a pheo as thought.. but all the symptoms..   C scans show nothing.. So now doing Mri.... and another specialist!... how many endos.. do i need!   6th one!. I have a huge lump on upper left side that hurts.. and you can see and feel it .. why didnt C scan show anything... VS was next. .now they put that off .. till i see a kidney dr... My kidney function is FINE!... I want the vs.. and i want this out!... Any info would be greately appreciated.. Im so tired of being sick and in pain.

I have primary Addison's since 1993, age 36. I also had Graves Disease at 16 and had 90% removed.

Also, I was diagnosed with EDS hypermobiliy a defective collagen gene, stretchy muscles. This means the support of major muscles are weak. Resulting in double knee replacements two years ago. It also causes the valve in the center of my heart to be weak.

Currently I take seven different medications daily. That is because I refuse to take arthritis medication or it would be more.

One thing so can say for certain is the most difficult period was in my early 50's due to menopause, which occurred at 52. Remember that when menopause occurs that's another hormone we are functioning without.

Addison's disease causes depression. just the aching of the body year after year gets a person down. I take 30mg of dux.., oh well doesn't matter, for decal years now, but I didn't need it until the change.

Oh, I also have Dupatrens Contracture in both hands. This means my lady three fingers on each had draw up , the tendons in the center of my hands have to be clipped/ cut every 3/4 years.

So you see, do people inherit all the good stuff and some do not. That's just how it is.

Hang in there and take care

Sorry Jackie, I don't know about that one.

I googled Addison's disease an clicked on the Mayo Clinic website. It appears they have updated it, lots more information, but now it appears to be written detailing the illness and providing more bullet points.

You might be able to look the definition/details of the disease on their site. Write and tell me how it goes.

      Good luck tomorrow

      Darlene
