I have had this problem for a few years, well before I was diagnosed with Fibro.  I went to see my dentist and a TMJ specialists.  Apparently, according to them I must be grinding my teeth at night when sleeping and by doing that it has created my jaw to click.  I had to wear a mouth shield at night time and I found this so uncomfortable that it didn't last very long.  I asked my husband if he ever heard me grind my teeth at night and he wasn't aware of this too.  Considering I don't sleep well at all I found this all strange. I don't think about it and have had moments that I have even forgotten about for months then all of a sudden it starts clicking again.  I'm not too bothered about it now.  Just get on with life.

      Gentle hugs to all....wink xx

Yes, that is interesting, as I have osteo arthritis in my hips and neck, makes me wonder if mine is that too.

Hi Kaz, I don't get clicking in my jaw, but for years now I have a problem with eating, if ever I just start chewing on food without thinking I end up biting my cheek or lips, I have to concentrate on my mouth movements all the times when eating. I haven't had any teeth out and it's not because of new fillings, but I never put it down to fibro either, I have no idea why it happened. I wonder if anyone else gets this?

    Hope you enjoy your day

    Gentle hugs

I have been biting the inside of my cheek for awhile now, didn't put it down to tmj though hmmmmm? I do have jaw pain & clicking as well, is it the alignment thats off making me bite my cheeks? I don't bite my lips...

Yes it's quite like an alignment problem, though I really have no idea why it started, it's yet another thing to put up with rolleyes

I just never put it down to fibro! Just goes to show, you never know. It would make sense too if it was, fibro affecting the joints, and it being like loose if I chew.

nothing surprises me any more to be honest with you where fibro is concerned. I had read people with fibro could have it happen to them.rolleyes never mind boqer onwards upwards hun you take care gentle hugs xx

Wow and I thought it was just me being clumsy. It certainly hurts when you do it, I have been know to bite lip, cheek and occasionally tongue. 😋 It is comforting to know I am in company.

Yes, I do exactly the same Meg, it doesn't sound like a big thing, till you have it, I am always getting blood blisters and really bad bites in my mouth and even on my tongue, and yes it's good to know, I can't believe all this time it was fibro.

      Anyway, enjoy your weekend.

      Hugs
