Trigeminal neuralgia

I have been diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia, and prescribed tegremol. Been taking this for a week but no difference. Could any1 who suffers with this please help. The pains are so abrupt and severe that Ive already been back to doctor again this week. Ty in advance

      I meant trigeminal neuralgia. Only recently diagnosed! It's severe shooting pains from my head down the side of my face. In the trigeminal nerve. Was just seeing if any1 could offer some advice.

    That runs in my family and I was just diagnosed with occipital neuralgia a few weeks ago. I was put on Neurontin and it helped a lot....also that us what my family members were put on for there TN. It took a couple weeks for the pain to really start going away but it did. It may just take some time.

      Thanks for the reply. Was just seeing how quick this medication is supposed to work. Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit. So many things about this illness I don't know!
