Ufe

Hi all I'm 9 months post op UFE. When I had my folllow up with the IR he said that it had shrunk from 10-7cm and that it was dead as it's blood supply has been cut off.

This fitted with my improving periods. Until my birthday 30th Sept when I had 2 flooding incidents. I took Mefamic acid to stop the excessive bleeding.

I don't understand how my periods have got bad again. When the Fibroid is dead.

I pointed out to my IR that my tummy was still as big as pre op. He said that I may not get the shrinkage that I want. He also said that I can only see a Gyn when I'm 12 months post op. I wondered should I go and see my GP and get referred sooner or just wait until 18 Jan I'm just worried about the flooding coming back and possibly getting worse. At the same time I know that the GP will not have a clue.

    Hi

I had my UFE at the end of April on a large 9cm fibroid as I was

Having heavy bleeding and bladder issues. After I still had heavy

period. On my third period I started having bowel and rectal pain.

Ennded up in hospital. Had ultrasound, X-ray and MRI. Finally gynae

told me that my fibroid had only shrunk 1cm and was classed as a

failure and is believed to be pressing on my bowel and tailbone.

I have constant rectal pressure and pain and have been in and out

    hospital the last 3 months.

My consultant has offered to give me another UFE, which I have refused.

So now I am on Esma and

looking to have a hysterectomy very soon as I am in constant pain

and I am unable to work. Unfortunately my gynae consultant is

dragging her heels and has an almighty God complex and says

I have to wait to see if tablets work so I am looking at going private.

Every GP I have seen, my own and the hospital are shocked I have

been left like this and have emailed my gynae to speed up my op

But she us being stubborn. My husband wants u to sue for

Negligence after its all over. I can't sit or sleep without sleeping

tablets and in tears nearly everyday. My advise is you know your

own body. Don't be fobbed off or just let them chuck pain killers

    at you.

I drink green tea instead of coffee and take fish oil supplements which I believe has made my periods normal again.  I have not done any surgeries or taken any other medication.
