    Hi Steph

I had anterior and posterior repair on 3rd Oct with episiotomy fix. Firstly, you'll be fine don't over think it too much, remember they do this stuff all the time.

It was less painful than I expected, but keep the painkillers topped up. I alternated between paracetamol and ibuprofen. I was in for 1 night and discharged lunchtime the next day. If u feel fine still rest. Ur likely to feel a bulging down there from swelling and evening of day 2 I had horrendous trapped wind stomach pains. They say don't get constipated but I wasn't, I think it's all the pulling round and drugs. I would recommend having some form of laxative or peppermint tea to ease things as if u don't havever anything and u get it ull feel very frustrated.

Main thing if u can is lay down as much as possible. I notice a huge difference in the bulging sensation the less I'm on my feet. Even between sitting and laying.

    All the best x

It's ok! I had one, before hand I was given a chart to fill in over three days of input and output of fluids - Happy days of weeing in a jug! I did measure the cups and glasses I generally use before hand so could just write that down easily. On the day there were two nurses. I changed into a hospital gown. They  put a catheter in and filled up my bladder from the urethra in as it were. I had to say when I felt my bladder was fullish, fuller and fullest. At the fullier/fullest level they got me to stand up then to jump up and down - not energetically! - to see when "overflow/loss of control" happened. Then I had to wee in a loo. This was measured. I think I remember a tiny tiny probe in the anus which made a 'circuit' to measure the electrical impulses of the muscles - I hope I didn't imagine this! The wee in th eloo was measured as to flow output - there is a graph. Then that was it. The two nurses were very lovely and chatty - it wasn't awful or undignified. They were specialist uronurses so knew what they were doing. Put the catheter in easily with no prodding and poking around and were very good at distraction techniques to chat when and when not to. It's a bit horrible when everything starts to leak out but they had said that's what they wanted to see so it was very reassuring.

?It's all ok - really don't worry about it. They may tell you some of the results but mine were then sent to the consultant for another appointment. They booked the appointment with the consultant for me there and then rather than me wait for one to come through which was good.

It was worth doing as it gives a good idea what's going on rather than trying to describe what's happening.

The urodynamics test is nothing to worry about. When I had mine the nurses couldn't have been nicer.

    Trizwizz describes it very well.

    Good luck.
