Vitamin B12 deficiency - how long to heal?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I was having burning sensation in my feet for like 4-5 months. 2 weeks ago, I got my B12 checked and it was pretty low... around 150 when the lower range is 250 I think..

Doc. gave me 5 initial doses of b12 injection and now I am taking b12 supplement orally (methycobalamin) [500 mcg x 3 daily]... The oral dosage is working well for me and I can feel the energy and all the good stuff... Most of the other symtomps have gone now... The only problem I have left is burning sensation in my feet.. Its not getting any better.. how long it should take to heal?

    Hi Jason

there is no easy answer to your question I'm afraid.

As we are all individuals it takes different times with us all, and with some of us some symptoms don't go away.

at least you are feeling better in other respects and long may that continue.

    Hi Jason.

Your B12 level could be as high as 1100, so it may take a while for you to be completely free of all the symptoms. I take the B12 Sublingual (under the tongue). It disolves without water and gets into your blood stream faster than the tablet. Consider investing in the Sublingual over the counter. They are less costly than the injection from your doctor as well. Don't be afraid that you can take too much, because B12 stores in your liver, but any excess will pass in your urine. I hope this helps.
