I have had blood tests, stool tests and today hydrogen breath test all normal. Taking antidpasmotics for three months as prescribed by gastro doc and probiotics but still waiting for ibs diagnosis. Anyone else having problems getting a definate diagnosis doctors keep saying they need to run more tests to rule out other things

IBS can take a long time to diagnose because other things need to be ruled out first. If your doctor still wants to run more tests, it probably means he is still unsure if you have IBS.  If other tests come back clear, IBS can be confirmed.  It took me three and a half months to get an IBS diagnosis.

Yes Pippa all of my other tests have come back negative. So just need to sit down with the dietician and go on a strict diet. I have an idea about some of the foods that I eat that seem to trigger it but just need to confirm with her it is ok to exclude from my diet
