What could this brown spot be?

Hello,

A few months ago, I noticed an irregularity around a small part of my right eye's iris. I am starting to worry because it seems to have spread from a small line to what appears a light brown spot. Here is a picture of my eye:

I am a healthy 19y/o guy and never had any health problems.

If you are worried go to see your doctor or an optometrist. Always check abnormalities out.

Lots of people develop patches of pigment on the white part of the eye, so don't panic, but yes, get yourself booked in for an eye test so someone can have a look at it.

I would recommend going to see an optometrist since it's a new spot that grows.

When did you first start noticing this and how fast did it grow? Has your pupil margins been distorted in anyway since the appearance of the growth? has your vision been affected?

The optometrist will explore these questions with you and likely referring you to see an eye specialist as it's a new and growing change.

Hi I dont think you need to worry, as this sounds to me like a fatty deposit on the white of the eye...its quite common and appears just where yours is, on the side nearest the nose. It is common in people who live or have lived in a hot climate. I used to have one as I come from New Zealand but since I moved to the UK it has disappeared. Says a lot about our weather, lol :-)

Thanks guys! If it continues to expand I will definitely see a specialist.
